
"Tennessee Trails" through Bedford County
I James Helton of the County of Bedford and State of Tennessee do make this my last will and testament in manner and form as herein after detailed - That my estate maybe equally divided between, John N. Helton and Susanah Cottner (Cortner?) and the heirs of her body and my grandson Wm N. Helton, Peter A. Helton and Mary J. Helton and Benjamin Helton and Davis Helton and Hanah C. Helton and John Helton the Children of D.D. Helton. It is my desire that my executor shall pay over to Susanah Cottner her portioned part of the estate at the expiration of three years from date should myself and wife die within that time. If not to remain in his hands until myself and wife shall die - And that part that maybe going to my grand Children as above named to remain in the hands of my executor until they arrive at the age of twenty - one in money - I do appoint John N. Helton my executor in this my last will.
Given under my hand and seal This the 2nd day of Octorber 1869.
