John Henson Potts was born Jan 23, 1909 an died Sept 1, 1973. He was the son of Franklin Potts and Mary Franc es Wheatley Potts. Hisgrandparents were William Sanders Potts and Sally Brewer Potts and Jame sConnie Wheatley and Martha Ann Nichols Wheatley. He had four brothers, Austin, Herman, Tom Ry e and Enloe and one sister, Martha. "Henson married Lottie Maibelle Robbins Dec 23, 1928... "Henson and Maibelle had two children, Hilda Ruth, who married Cecil Merideth French, and Johnnie Kenneth, who married Linda June Berry. "Henson and Maibelle were members of McRaes Chapel United Methodist Church. He was choir director at the church for 43 years. "Henson was very active in the Benson County Singing Convention formany years. He also taught singing school. He organized several quartets and they sang at many churches and schools and were on local Sunday morning radio programs."
