POW and Veteran of World War II. U.S. Army Air Corps, B-17 Pilot, 388th Bombardment Group. While on a bombing mission over Germany, his aircraft was shot down and he became a prisoner of war. He spent almost two years in three different POW camps. After 26 years of service to his country, he retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1967.
