TY ROBBINS KILLED EARLY THURSDAY BY SON-IN-LAW

Ty Robbins of subtently of 23rd District, Farmer well known in every section of Benton and Henry Counties, was shot and killed by son-in-law, Crawford Wynn about 6 o'clock Thursday morning. Wynn is under arrest.

Details of the shoting are few, just from what can be learned is that the trouble had been brewing for the past three years and it poured into a family feud. From what can be learned, Ty Robbins had been indicted to Circuit Court on charges.

Ty Robbins had threatened Crawford Wynn, reported that Ty said he would shoot Wynn on sight and he had armed himself for it. It is understood that Robbins had been out of the country for several weeks and had returned the night before.

The killing accured within a quarter of m ile of the Robbins house on a public road. The two met and had words, the shooting started. Ty Robbins was shot 3 times by a double barrell shot gun being used by Crawford Wynn.

Thomas was called Ty or Yancey... he was shot and killed in 1916. No one knows for sure why, but his son Kenny had said the sheriff killed him over some some money owned to Ty.

There don't seem to be no truth in this ... The sheriff and Ty were good friends till that year when they had a argument. There is also a story that Ty and a friend went to KY to get some whiskey and they took it to the friends home... So ty could go at anytime and get some.

The next day abt. 6 a.m. Ty walked to the friends home, but only a old man was home and was hard of hearing all he heard was something about not knowing started shooting with a shot gun Then the other started shooting not knowing why or who they were shooting. Ty tryed to run but did not get far before he died... one of his son-in-laws, Crawford Wynn took the blame for it. It was repeatedthat Crawford Wynn had said he was paided for it.

Most of the feuding was caused over moonshine in Benton Co. TN. It is not really known how many was involved in the shooting -- but apparently according to Ty Robbins kids you could not lay your hands on him without feeling the shotgun pellets.

It is still stated till this day that Ty Robbins daughter Minnie Robbins whom had been married to Crawford Wynn that he was paid $1000 dollars to take the plame although there was many involved. Crawford Wynn spent 1 year in the state penitentary for the killing of Ty Robbins. .
