Journal, and the Journal and Banner. May 5, 1929 Torrential Rains Here Delay Planting Unless the heavy downpours cease soon farmers face a tough year, as cotton and corn planting is impossible now with the ground soaked with daily torrential rains. One farmer from the west side of the County stated today that he only knew of about 4 acres of corn being planted in his community, and that it was not due to lazy farmers, but that the ground had been so wet for the past several weeks that one could not stick the plow into the earth to turn a furrow. Creeks were booming early Saturday morning and again today, flooding lowland.
July 3, 1967 Weather Clevelanders should have a warm Fourth of July. The outlook for this area is partly cloudy and mild today and Tuesday with a high expected to be in the 80's. Outlook for Wednesday is little change.
