Frank L. BROWN, son of Rev. R. T. Brown of this place, and the accommodating clerk of the steamer Clide of the Tennessee River, was married last Wednesday (29 April 1891) to Miss Annie D. COLEMAN of Paducah. The ceremony was witnessed by a number of friends, I. S. Moore and family and Miss Maggie Brown of this place, attending. After the ceremony has been performed, the happy couple left for St. Louis on a bridal tour. The groom and his lovely bride will arrive in town next Sunday and will spend a week or ten days visiting relatives here. Albert CUNNINGHAM and Miss Bettie PEELER of the 1st district were married Tuesday night (28 April 1891) of last week, Rev. J. W. Jones officiating. Yesterday evening (23 December 1891) at 7:00 at the M. E. Church South, the rites of matrimony were solemnized between Capt. W. H. Eason and Miss Joella NEWTON. The marital vows were taken in the presence of a large number of friends, the ceremony being performed by the pastor, REV. Meadows. The affair was a quiet nature, there being no effort at display, and after the vows had been taken, the contracting parties and a few special friends repaired to the Eason house where a pleasant evening was spent. The groom and bride are well known to the readers of the Democrat. Capt. Eason is the genial and accommodating proprietor of the Eason House, a gentleman of high standing among our people and who numbers his friends by the hundreds. He is worthy of the confidence and love of the one, who by this union, has intrusted her hand and heart to his protection. Miss Joella is a young lady of sweet disposition and possesses so many admirable qualities that to know her is to admire her. She possesses many of those beautiful traits of character which adorn a home, and makes all who come under influence happier and better. It is a splendid union and the Democrat takes great pleasure in extending its most hearty congratulations, and wishes for them a happy and prosperous life. Jim GILKEY and Bettie EZZELL, both of the 3rd district, were married Thursday night, the 10th, at the home of the bride’s father, R. G. Ezzell. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Ben Ellsberry. The attendants were Edward Coleman with Nannie Ezzell and AL. Gilkey with Minnie Dudley . A large crowd attended the marriage, enjoyed a splendid supper given in honor of the occasion, and left at a late hour, leaving their best wishes for the future happiness of the newly wedded couple. Jim HAYNES and Bettie WADDELL of the Hico community were married last Saturday afternoon at the home of B. S. Thomas, Esq. who performed the ceremony. Only a few special friends witnessed the marriage. T. E Thomas gave the newly wedded couple a dinner last Sunday. They were the recipients of many heart congratulations. Billie SIMMONS and Nannie ELDER, both of 3rd district, married Wednesday night, the 9th, at the residence of Esq. S. T. Boaz, Esq. Robert Young officiating. The attendants were Robert Ezell withBettie Elder and Tip Simmons with Callie McCLure. The young couple are quite popular and have the congratulations and best wishes of the entire community. Wallace STEEL and Miss Virdie TUCKER of the 13th district were married last Tuesday. The ceremony was performed at the home of the bride’s father A. C. Tucker, in the presence of a few invited friends, Rev.John Johnson of Clarksburg officiating. An infair dinner was given the happy couple and friends the next day at the home of S. J. Hilliars, which was a pleasant affair and highly enjoyed by all. H. T. TAYLOR and Miss Hattie DIGGS of the 23rd district were married last Wednesday evening (August 19, 1891) , Rev. R. H. Hood officiating. The attendants were Haywood Carver with Miss Etta Ownby and Eddie Hilliard with Miss Mollie Taylor. After the marriage, the bridal party and friends repaired to the home of the groom where they enjoyed a pleasant reception. That their life may be one of happiness is the wish of their many friends. J. R. THOMAS was married last Sunday to Martha J. STACY at the home of the bride’s brother, George W. Stacy near town. The ceremony was performed by Judge G. W. Humble of this place. It was a quiet affair, only a few of the relatives and most intimate friends being present.(Carroll County Democrat Huntingdon, Tennessee Friday, December 7, 1888)

Last Sunday evening (21 January 1894) at the residence of Judge Jo. Hawkins , Mr. (given name cut off) WILLIAMS and Miss Jessie HAWKINS were married… Mr. Williams is one of Huntingdon’s most popular young men and a leading dry goods merchant. Miss Hawkins is the accomplished daughter of Judge Jo.. R Hawkins and was a leading society belle, who had many friends and admirers, who wish her a long and happy married life. Monday evening, the infair was held at the residence of Mrs.. S. N.
