SAMUEL YOUNG BIGHAM I, S. Y. Bigham of McLemoresville, Carroll County Tennessee do make and publish this my last Will and Testament, first I request that my funeral expenses and all my debts be paid, as soon after my death as possible out of any monies I may be possessed of, or may come into the hands of my executor. I own the tract of land containing one hundred and sixty four acres by deed from John R Plummer, and which land I gave Harry H. Bingham a deed in trust for some seven hundred dollars the money he paid J. R. Plummer, to redeem said land from like and I also gave Maggie Clark a deed in trust of the same land for four hundred dollars, moneys of hers I used in paying my own debts – therefore should said tract of land be sold to satisfy said deed of trust, and bring more than will pay and satisfy said deed of trust. I will and bequeath, to my wife Maggie J. Bigham one third of the balance of the money, after satisfying said deed in trust, and balance to my children, should the land not be sold but rented for the year 1887, I wish my wife Maggie J. Bigham to have the proceeds of the said rents. And I do hereby nominate and appoint W. H. Bigham my executor. In witness whereof set my hand this 20th day of November 1886 S. Y. Bigham

Of interest as it names Mary Louise Mitchum 1st wife of Samuey Young Bigham I Robert Mitchum of the County of Carroll & State of Tennessee Being of sound mind and suffering some affliction of Body & realizing the uncertainty of human life do hereby declare and publish this my last will & testament.
first that my burial Expences together will all my just debts be paid.
Second I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary L. Bigham wife of Dr. S. Y. Bigham my Negro man Stephen about sixty five years old and my Negro boy Standhope about Eighteen years old in consideration of which the said Mary L. & S. Y. Bigham shall pay to James Greer one hundred dollars & to Emely E. Mitchum one hundred Dollars to be due & paid within three years after my death.
Third I will and bequeath that my Negro woman Juda & Boys Alfred & Peter be equally divided Between Anderson H. Smith J. G. Williamson & my son William C. Mitchum.
