MALLIE (FRIX) CLEARY
, 95, of Henderson died Sept. 5, 2006. Funeral services were held Sept. 8 from the Chapel of Leon Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. Elmer Cole and the Rev. Bobby Barnes officiating. Burial followed in Chester County Memory Gardens. She was born in Chester County, where she resided most of her life, the daughter of Jim and Ova Frix. She had won many medals in the local, regional and state Senior Citizen Games. She was a long time member of Sanford Hill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Martha Bird Casey of Henderson, Patricia Jayne Wilkerson of Memphis, and Barbara Cochran of Newbern; her sons, Lewis Guinn, Jr., of Savannah, and Jerry Guinn and Wayne Creasy, both of Henderson; two sisters, Bethel White and Gladys Lynch, both of Memphis, and Junell King of Peoria, Ill.; a brother, James Frix of Henderson; 28 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Lewis Guinn, A.R. Creasy, and Leo Cleary; two daughters, Juanita Barnes and Catherine Phelps; a son, Frank Guinn; two sisters, Beulah Clay and Marie Plunk; three brothers, Carroll Frix, Troy Frix, and Guy Frix; and two grandchildren.
ROBERT HARRISON COATNEY
- Services for Robert H. Coatney were Saturday afternoon at Unity Baptist Church with Rev. Clyde Tiley officiating. Burial was in Unity Cemetery. Mr. Coatney, 82, died early Friday morning at Jackson General Hospital after a years illness. He was a Baptist. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Fannie Grissom Coatney; a daughter, Mrs. Houston Meadows of Luray; two brothers, Drew Coatney and Vaudie both of Jacks Creek; a sister Mrs. Lessie Freezor of Atoka TN and two grandchildren.
RUBY (MASSENGILL) CONNOR
- Services for Mrs. Ruby Massengill Conner of Hinkle will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Sweet Lips. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Scotts Hill Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Conner, who was 73, died late Tuesday at Decatur County Hospital. She had been in ill health about two years. She leaves her husband, Brodie Conner of Hinkle; two sons, James B. Conner of Saltillo; four daughters, Mrs. Pauline Dailey and Mrs. Loraine Shaver, both of Sardis, Mrs. Elice Gray of Pennsylvania and Mrs. Exie Pusser of Lawrenceburg; 21 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
ANNIE E. (RYALS) CROOK
- Services for Mrs. Annie Ryals Crook, 66, were conducted Sunday from Unity Baptist Church by the Rev. Floyd Rogers of Jackson and Rev. E.E. Deusner of Lexington. Mrs. Crook died suddenly at her home at Middlefork late Satuday afternoon of cerebral hemorrage. She was born and raised in the Middlefork community. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ryals. Mrs. Crook was a member of the Unity Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband T.J. Crook; two sons, Fred and Clyde Crook, all of Middlefork; two brothers, Hugh Ryals of Henderson and T.P. Ryals of Middlefork; two sisters Mrs. Robbie Phillips of Henderson and Mrs. Arlie Patterson of Middlefork; and one grand daughter Carol jane Barrels of Lexington. Pallbearers weer Albert Ryals, Edwin Bell, N.F. Phillips, J.E. Phillips, Ernie Wilkerson and Robert Crook. Burial in the church cemetery.
JIMMY GLEN CUPPLES
- Services for Jimmy Glen Cupples, 63, will be at 2 p.m. today at Casey Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery in Chester County. Mr. Cupples, an equipment operator in construction, died Monday at his daughter's home in Lexington of cancer. He is survived by three daughters and a son, Sandy Fesmire of Lexington, Joanie Patterson, Joby Emerson and Toby Cupples, all of Henderson; a sister and a brother, Bernice Buckley and William Jim Cupples, both of Henderson.
