MAULDIN BURL "BILL" LATHAM
- Services for Mauldin “Bill” Latham were Saturday at Leon Johnson and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. John Poor and Dr. W Clyde Tilley officiating. Burial was in the Unity Cemetery. Mr. Latham, who was 60, died Thursday night at Jackson General Hospital after a short illness. He was born in Madison County, was a retired Murray Guard Inc. employee, and a Baptist. He lived most recently with a daughter, Elaine Hatch, of Lexington. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Nellie King Latham; seven daughters, Mrs. Elaine Hatch, Mrs. Susan Todd, Phyllis Latham, Mrs. Sandra Wilson, Mrs. Nancy Simmons, Mrs. Dorothy Waugh, all of Lexington, Mrs. Deborah Wilkinson of Luray; a son, Edward Latham of Huron; his mother, Mrs. Virgie Latham of Henderson; four sisters, Mrs. Lillian Bridges of Jackson, Mrs. Minnie Arnold of Beech Bluff, Mrs. Maxine Connor of Henderson and Mrs. Helen Hurst of Memphis; a brother, Boyce Latham of Beech Bluff; and eight grandchildren.
MARY SUE (SCROGGINS) LEWIS
- Services for Mrs. Mary Sue Lewis were Friday at George A. Smith and Sons with burial in Chester County Memory Gardens. Mrs. Lewis, 42, died Thursday at Jackson. She was a Pentecostal. She leaves her husband, Charles E. Lewis ofJackson; a son, David Woods, of Lexington; two stepdaughters Ms. Charlene Bruff and Ms. Sandra Fitzgerald both of Jackson; a stepson Dennis Lewis of Henderson; her father and stepmother, W.T. and Barbara Scroggins; three sisters, Ms. Judy Rodger, Ms. Debbie Mayo and Ms. Janie Ross all of Jackson; six brothers, Thommy Scroggins, Norman Scroggins, Henry Scroggins, Gene Scroggins, Ronnie Dyer, all of Jackson and Billy Dyer of San Diego.
