HOWARD FOREST MALONE , 86, of Henderson died July 19, 2006, at Chester County Healthcare. Funeral services were held July 21 at Casey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Stan Smith officiating. Burial followed in Owens Cemetery. He was born and reared in Chester County, the son of the late Bedford Forrest and Jeanette Fowler Malone. He attended school in Chester County. He married Nell Seeley in 1938, and they made their home in Chester County most of the time. He later married Anna Mozella Newman Ligon. She died in 1991. He was a retired carpenter and had worked on major construction jobs all over the United States, building dams, Air Force bases, and power plants. He also built many houses in Chester County. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

He is survived by three sons, Shannon Malone (Chris) of Crossville, and Doug Malone (Renee) and Gary Malone (Vickie), both of Henderson; two daughters, Peggy Jackson (Gary) of Finger and Doris Hearn of Henderson; five stepchildren; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Alma Douglas, Alice Droke, and Nell Skinner, and two brothers, Clyde Malone and Ira Malone.

EDWARDS MANESS - Services for Edward Maness were Saturday, Sept. 11, 1993 at Leon Johnson Funeral Home in Henderson with the Rev. Edwin Dyer officiating. Burial was in Mifflin Cemetery. Mr. Maness, who was 85, died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1993 at Lexington Methodist Hospital. He was a retired farmer and was a member of the Farm Bureau. He leaves his wfe, Mrs. Elsie Miller Maness of Huron; a daughter, Mrs. Archie Roleh of Peoria Heights, Ill.; two sons, Onie V. PHILLIP ANTHONY MANESS - Services for Philip Anthony Maness were Monday Feb. 5, 2001 at Casey Funeral Home, Henderson with burial in Cave Springs Cemetery. Mr. Maness, who was 35, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2001 of injuries received in an automobile accident. He was an employee of I Appeal Corp. Henderson. He leaves his wife, Laurie Louise St. Louis Maness of Henderson; three sons, Cody St. Louis, Tyler Kennedy, both of Henderson and John Robert Maness of Bauxite AK; a daughter, Khristin Maness of Bauxite AR; his father and stepmother, Larry and Carol King Maness, Henderson; his mother and step-father, Sherry Phililps and Wilford Stepp of Huntingdon; two brothers Mike Maness and Daryl Maness both of Henderson; two sisters, Kim Holloway of Lexington and Amy Maness of Henderson; a grandmother, Clara Phillips of Henderson; a grandfather, Willard Maness of Henderson. RALPH EDWARD MAYNARD , 59, of Henderson died July 24, 2006, at his home. Funeral services were held July 26 from Loyd Auditorium with Dr. Billy Smith officiating. Burial followed in Chester County Memory Gardens. Casey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. He was born in Pike County, Ky., the son of Eula Hale Maynard Dillon and the late Ralph Arthur Maynard. He grew up in Martin County, Ky., graduated from Warfield High School in 1963, and attended Marshall University. He married Libby Meade in 1965, and they made their home in Inez, Ky. He worked as a director of purchasing for Martiki Coal Company for 31 years. They moved to Henderson in 2004, and he worked for Freed-Hardeman University as director of purchasing. He had been a member of the Kiwanis Club in Inez. He served 10 years as an Elder at the Inez Church of Christ prior to moving to Henderson. He was a member of Estes Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Libby Maynard of Henderson; a son, Bryan Maynard (Mitzi) of Franklin; a daughter, Cammy Winslow (Rusty) of Jackson; his mother, Eula Hale Maynard Dillon of Louisa, Ky.; a sister, Mary Katherine Maynard Lowe of Louisa; and four grandchildren.

CLYDE EDWARD McADAMS - Funeral services for Mr. Clyde Edward McAdams are scheduled for 10AM, Friday, March 24, 2006 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home with Dr. Hoyt Wilson and Bro. Matt McAdams officiating. Burial will follow in Unity Cemetery. Mr. McAdams died late Tuesday at his home in Lexington. He was born September 29, 1914 in Middlefork, TN to the late Walter and Margie Bailey McAdams. He was a retired farmer and former employee of Anaconda Wire & Cable.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Rheba Bain McAdams and five brothers and sisters, Ruth Franklin, Ray, Hugh, Jim, and Gale McAdams. Survivors include his son, Walter (Carolyn) McAdams of Clarksburg, his daughter, Mary Brock Autry of Lexington, two brothers, E. C. (Toby) McAdams of Jackson and Jack McAdams of Lexington, two sisters, Loy Jones of Jacks Creek and Betty Dunivan of Lexington, six grandchildren, Lisa (Keith) Dunivan, Theresa (Author) Gateley, Sherry McAdams, Christy (Pastor) Valdez, John McAdams and Matthew McAdams, three great grandchildren, and a special friend, Frances Teasler

WALTER L. McADAMS
, son of the late E.G. and Cornelia Summers McAdams, was born July 28, 1890 and died in his home near Crook's Store Thursday October 14, 1937. He had been suffering for several months with hemorrhages of the lungs. He was converted several years ago but had never united with any church. He was known to have preferred the Baptist Church. Surviving him are his aged mother, wife, Mrs. Margie McAdams, and ten children, including seven boys, Clyde, Hugh, Roy, Gale, James, Ernest and e.g. and three girls, Ruth, Loy and Bettie. Largley attended funeral services were conducted in the Unity Baptist Church Friday afternoon, October 15, 1937 by Rev. Simpson Daniel of Lexington. One of the largest crowds ever to gather in that community was present for these last rites which was mute testimony of the man's great popularity.

SAMUEL D. McADAMS , was born July 7th, 1866 and died of heart failure at his home near Mifflin April 12, 1934. He had an operation for appendicitis last March 3. He seemed to be well on his way to recovery and his sudden death was a shock. e was married January 25, 1894 to Miss Florence Wilson, a daughter of the late Whitt Wilson. To them were born six children, a son, Grafton, who died in infancy. A daughter, Ruby Mae, died at the age of seven. He is survived by his widow, three sons, Edwin of Henderson; Whitt of Corsicana Texas and Riley of Luray, and one daughter Aileen of Nashville. He was an active farmer, cotton buyer and merchant in this county (Henderson County) before he retired to his farm in Chester County six years ago. He was widely known for his many acts of charity. He moved many distressed persons to his farm and into his house, and with his assistance, able counsel, square and honest dealings, many of these have become good and substantial citizens. The expression by many different persons, "Sam McAdams has been a father to me," is often heard. He had been a member of the Presbyterian Church since he was twenty years of age. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Walden with interment in Unity Cemetery.

IMA ELIZABETH (PASCHALL) McCORD - Services for Ima Elizabeth Paschall McCord 93 will be at 1 p.m. today at George A. Smith and Sons South Chapel. Burial will be in the Bethel Springs Cemetery. Mrs. McCord a homemaker died Sunday at Forest Cove Health Care Center of heart failure. She is survived by a daughter and two sons Alama Ruth Doyle of Jackson William McCord of Bethel Springs and Roy McCord of Kingston Okla.

ONEITA (COATNEY) MEADOWS - Services for Mrs. Oneita Coatney Meadows were Sunday at Unity Baptist Church with Dr. Clyde Tilley officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Casey Funeral Home of Henderson in charge. Mrs. Meadows, who was 63, died Friday at Baptist Hospital in Memphis after a short illness. She was an inspector for Oakley Fashions in Jackson where she had worked fro 27 years. She was a Baptist and a member of the Eastern Star. She leaves her husband Houston L. Meadows of Luray. EDDIE MEEKER - Last evening an eight-year-old boy, who is reported as Eddie Meeker, son of a respectable farmer, wandered from his home near Henderson, eighteen miles south of Jackson, and threw himself into the river. The boy, who was somewhat demented, being missed by his parents, search was instituted and he was tracked to the water's edge. The river was dragged and about 10 o'clock last night the body was found. He had never in his life given any intimation of a determination to destroy himself, though his mental condition often rendered him melancholy. DAVID LUTHER MELTON, JR. - Services for David Luther Melton, Jr., 56, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday from George A. Smith and Sons South Chapel. Burial will follow in Trinity Cemetery in Chester County. Mr. Melton died Monday at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital. A native of Henderson, Tn, he was the son of the late David L. Melton Sr. and Lillie Thomas Melton. Before moving to Jackson three months ago, Mr. Melton had lived in Grenada, Ms for ten years where he was in management with Memphis Hardwood Flooring. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Sue Blackwell Melton of Medon; three daughters, Dannette Melton of Lake Ozark, Mo, Phyllis Ann Engle of Greenville, SC and Billie Sue Forrest of Pinson; a son, Andy T. Banks of Berkey, Oh; a sister, Hazel Galigher of Medon; four brothers, Richard Melton of Arizona, D.C. Melton of Selmer, James Melton of Jackson and Larence C. Melton of Grenada, Ms; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Casketbearers to serve are Larry Hinsley, Billy Spencer, Randy Pirtle, Jerry Forrest, Jerry Engle and Andy V. Banks.

RUTH ANNE (RIDLEY) MIDDLETON - Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Anne Middleton, age 86, are scheduled for Saturday, December 1, 2007 at Community of Christ Church in Jacks Creek with Bro. Crandall Barbour and Bro. Dwight Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Bailey Cemetery. Pafford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Middleton died early Thursday in Jackson. She was born October 5, 1921 in Henderson County to the late George Ridley and Alice Williams Ridley. She was a homemaker and a member of Community of Christ Church and Jacks Creek Community Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Ray Middleton, her brother, Cecil Ridley, and two sisters, Violet Bailey and Jewell McBride. Survivors include her two sons, Dan Middleton of College Station, TX and Dale Middleton of Jacks Creek, her daughter, Joy Figueroa of Jacks Creek, her brother, Curtis Ridley of Gallatin, her sister, Geneva Perry, three grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

JAMES EARL MOODY - Services for James E. Moody 70 will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Leon Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Bailey Cemetery in Jacks Creek. Mr. Moody a retired mechanic died Friday at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital of heart failure. He was preceded in death by his wife Inez Moody. He is survived by five daughters and a son Nellie I. Jean Renfroe of Kevil Ky. MARTHA ADA MURLEY , 81, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clarence Cox near Henderson on Friday afternoon, May 28, 1954. Mrs. Murley was a member of the Christian Church. She was a daughter of the late Monroe and Frances Naylor Deming. She was born in McNairy County but had spent most of her life in Chester County. Her husband Henry Clay Murley died twenty-five years ago. In addition to her daughter, she leaves two other daughters, Mrs. Velma Roland and Mrs. Lora Hearn, both of Henderson; three sons, Dolphus Murley....; two brothers, Bedford and Jack Deming and a sister, Mrs. Farmer Hearn of Henderson; twenty-eight grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Bethel Baptist Church on May 29, 1954 with Rev. J. W. Camp officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery with Morgan Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were Melvin Gordon Cox, Troy Haskel Cox, Dolphus Haskel Murley, Jim Henry Murley, Billie Joe Murley and Willard Hearn.
