Henry Moyers
Will of HENRY MOYERS, deceased State of Tennessee, Claiborne County I,
Henry Moyers, do make and publish this my last will and testament, hereby
revoking and making void all other wills by me at any time made.
First, it is my will and desire that all of my just debts and funeral expenses
be paid as soon after my death as possible out of any monies that may be on hand
or may first come into the hands of my Executor.
Secondly, I will and bequeath to my beloved wife Mary Moyers, during her natural
lifetime, the following named land, to wit, the plantation that I now live on,
including all the lands that I own in Claiborne County, a description and
boundary will be more fully seen by reference to the title papers.
Thirdly, I will and bequeath to my wife the following named property, to wit,
one wagon, two head of horse beasts, one saddle, one bridle, two choice cows,
ten head of choice stock hogs, two shovel plows, two bull tongue plows, one
wheat fan, one loom and gearing, one flax wheel, one cotton wheel, five chairs,
three bedsteads and furniture, all the cupboard and dresser ware, all fowls and
poultry, one chest, and all the spinning stuff, cotton flax, etc., and all the
grain that is on hand of every kind, six hundred pounds of bacon, two pair of
gears, two weeding hoes, one mattock, one chopping axe, all the salt and salt
debts that is on hand, and all the leather and iron that is on hand.
Fourthly, I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary, the following named property,
to wit, one roan colt, one brindle cow and calf, one bedstead and furniture, and
four head of stock hogs.
Fifthly, I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth, the following property,
one colt worth 20 or 25 dollars, one bridle cow and calf, one sow and three
shoats, one bedstead and furniture.
Sixthly, I give and bequeath to my friend Joseph Houston, provided he stays and
works as he has heretofore, one horse, saddle, bridle and blanket worth sixty
dollars in trade, and five dollars in cash, and two suits of clothing.
Seventhly, I will and bequeath to my daughter Anna Williams, my son Joseph B.
Moyers, and Mary Moyers, the following named tract of land, to wit, my
plantation lying in Grainger County, known as the Joseph K. Beeler tract, the
description and boundary will be more fully seen by reference to the title
papers, to be equally divided between said three children at any time after Mary
becomes to be 21 years of age, to have and to hold during their natural
lifetime, then to their heirs with the exception of two acres for the use of a
graveyard.
Eighthly, I will and bequeath to my daughter Katharine Moyers and Elizabeth
Moyers, after the death of my wife, the plantation on which I now reside,
including all the lands that I own in Claiborne County, the description of which
will be more fully seen by reference to the title papers, to be equally divided
between them after the death of my wife, to have and hold the same during their
natural lifetime, then to their heirs.
Ninthly, it is my will that all property not herein disposed of, be sold on
twelve months credit, and the proceeds arising from said sale to be equally
divided between the following named heirs, to wit, my wife Mary Moyers,
Katherine Moyers, Anna Williams, Joseph B. Moyers, Mary Moyers, Jr., and
Elizabeth Moyers.
Tenthly and lastly, I hereby nominate and appoint Jacob Beeler, my Executor to
this my last will and testament. In witness whereof, I do hereunto set my hand
