Solomon Dobkins

CLAIBORNE COUNTY, TENNESSEE Will Book, Volume 2

Inventory of the Estate of SOLOMON DOBKINS, deceased Personal property includes: As the Administrator of Solomon Dobkins, deceased, I have made diligent inquiry as to the affairs of the estate, and after thus inquiring, I have not as yet found anything of which I can get possession. I understand there is a negro in the county of Lee in the state of Virginia, which has been disposed of as the law that state directs, so far as to hire him out until such time as he can be sold. There was also some other property there which was disposed of by an Administrator in that county. I further understand there is in the hands of the clerk of the Circuit Court of this county, about $14.00 or $15.00. I am informed by Col. William M. Cocke of Grainger County, that the deceased placed I his hands several notes or bills, single debts owing to the deceased, for the purpose of indemnifying him as the security of the deceased in a certain lawsuit now pending in the Chancery Court, Tazewell, and to secure to Cocke, his fee in the suit. Given under my hands this 7th day of June 1853.

John Fugate, Administrator
