Correcting Settlement with WILLIAM KINCAID, Guardian to the Minor Heirs
of THOMAS McCLAIN, deceased On an examination of the several settlements
made with William Kincaid, Guardian of McClain’s heirs, I find that the Guardian
has been charged with too much, and the result of the several settlements should
have stood as follows, viz, Amount of charges actually received up to December
1st 1847 $187.57 ¼ Land belonging to minors was sold for $3585.01, one third due
2 years so Guardian is chargeable on this amount $1438.13 Whole amount of
credits to which the Guardian is entitled is $443.09
Leaves a balance of $995.04 ½ remaining in the hands of the Guardian.
Settlement made December 1st 1848 should have stood as follows: Amount due on
former settlement with interest $1054.88 ¼ Credits at this time amount to
$326.96
Balance against Guardian 1st December 1848 $727.92 ¼
Settlement 1st December 1849 should have stood as follows: Amount of former
settlement $727.92 ¼ Sale of land due 18th February 1849 $1195.00 Interest
