Beauregard Martin Brooks was born December 31, 1861, in Wayne County. He married Cora Elizabeth Bruce who was a school teacher. They were the parents of 4 children: Mae born 19 Nov 1895 who married a Horner, Nona born 19 Jan 1898 and died 30 May 1941, Blanche born 9 July 1902 who married a Turner, Mrs. Flavins Alexander born 14 April 1908, Walter Kendrick born 12 Feb 1891 and died 13 Feb 1974 , Martin born 15 Jan 1906 , and Erskine born 25 Dec 1892 and died 23 Jan 1919. After attending the University of Tennessee, Beauregard became a physician. He moved to Decatur County in 1892 and lived south of Decaturville. In January 1900, he moved into a new 2 story house which still stands in Bath Springs.
