(Sheriff of Decatur County). Born in Decatur Co., Tenn., on June 20, 1886 of Irish descent. Attended public schools of Perry Co., and is a member of the Batist church; and a Democrat. His parents are John Conder and Rachel (Mays) Conder. Mr. Conder was elected Sheriff of Decatur Co. August 1936, making a fine record as sheriff, treating all people alike. He takes an active interest in all civic affairs and is one of the county's leading citizens. He is the father of two children; Mrs. Iva Reynolds and Syble Conder, both of Decaturville. he was a member of the Co. Court for one term, and his hobby is hunting. On August 2,1908 he married Aura Ivy.
