Harvey N. Cotham was the son of Isaac Cotham who came to America from Ireland. Harvey came to Densons Landing to visit his brother -in-law, Billy Densons. He and Billy were married to sisters, Janie and Sallie Bandy of Humphreys County. They were the daughters of Doctor Bandy. While visiting, Harvey had the opportunity to buy land in Decatur County from a part Indian named Sau (l) Pau (l). He purchased the land and his family began to farm in Decatur County. Harvey's son Richard Erwin married Robbie Elizabeth Anderson a daughter of Capt. Robert Drake Anderson of the Civil War. Another son Leslie married Zana Ward of Benton County.
