William was born in Sugar Tree, the son of James and Jane Hunter Cox who came from Ireland to the U.S. He married Martha Marie Wilson in 1882. They lived in Sugar Tree until Mr. Cox's death in 1943. Mrs. Cox died in 1967 at the age of 103. William and Martha were the parents of 4 children : Ezra, Ottis, Pearl, and Zoedie. Ezra married Ethel Malin. There were no children.Ottis married Alvis Odle and they were the parents of 3 children : Clois, Buford, and Martha. Pearl married John Tippett and they were the parents of Bruce, Madelyn, and Kenneth. Zoedie married George Bell and they were the parents of 6 children : Martha Mae, Juanita, Agnes, Grady, James, and Wilford.
