James Frank Dees
(Merchant and Banker) Of English descent, son of E.L. Dees, who is a farmer, and Martha Elizabeth (Griffin) Dees. Paternal grandparents, Green & Martha (Lockhart) Dees; maternal grandparents, William Griffin and ?? Pounds. He attended public schools of Decatur Co., and is a member of the Methodist Church; Republican; Mason; Odd Fellows. Mr. Dees has been engaged in the general mercantile business for 24 years; he is also pres. of the Decatur Co. Bank, one of the fastest growing banks in the state. He takes an active interest in all civic affairs which tend to better his community and is one of the county's leading citizens. On March 16, 1902 he married Elizabeth Tuck, by whom he has two children; Emily Elizabeth age 19, and Brenda Justice age 15, both of Decaturville, Tenn. He has served as a member of the board of Alderman of Decaturville for a number of years and as a member of the Revenue Commission for Decatur County.
