Furniture dealer and undertaker. Born in Chester Co. TN, June 1, 1897, son of E.E. and Henritta (Ivy) Linton. He attended public schools of Chester Co. TN and is a member of the Baptist church; Democrat; Mason; American Legion, Present Commander. Maor Lindon was elected Mayor of Decaturville in Dec. 1936 for a 2year term. He has made a splinded mayor and under his administration the city streets have been paved and the corporation line extended. He is very popular with the people, giving equal justice to all in all matters affecting the city. He was in the regular army during the World War for nine months as a colunteer. He is the father of four children; Thomas Murrell, Fred II, Mary Marjorie, and Joe Lynn. His wife is Mary Sullivan whom he married April2 1, 1918. HIs hobby is fishing and hunting.
