LEMUEL LEE LUTON
Lemuel Luton came to the Decatur County area from South Carolina in the early 1800's. He married Sarah White, daughter of Jonathan White. They were the parents of 6 children : Henry who died at birth, Tempy, Nancy, Martha Ann, Jonathan, and Narcissy. Jonathan became a teacher, merchant, preacher, and Capt. in the CSA, Company H, 31st TN Infantry Regiment. Jonathan married Jane McCall from Huntingdon, TN. They were the parents of 3 children: Joseph, Nannie, and Monnie. Jonathan's second wife was Cynthia Clementine Anderson. Eleven children were born : Sarah Elizabeth, Sally, Ora, Lemuel, Gideon, Arthur, Annie, William Oliver, Stella, Lillie, and Clementine. Lemuel's 3rd wife was Addie Reece.
