Attended elementary schools at Shady Hill, Henderson, and at Scotts Hill, graduating from latter, 1925; Scotts Hill High School, from which he graduated, 1929. Married at Scotts Hill in 1929 to Lucille Laster, native of Henderson County, daughter of Walter and Annie (Mangrum) Laster; children — Mary Ann, Charles, Earl, Peggy, Sammie, and Linda Kay. Occupations, merchant, farmer, and sawmill operator at Scotts Hill. Elected justice of the peace, 1959, for 10th civil district of Decatur County; sometime county commissioner. Member Pentecostal Church. Residence, Scotts Hill.
