Iron Hill Cemetery

The cemetery at Iron Hill Pentecostal Church was established about 1960. The cemetery is not indicated on the U.S.G.S. Jeanette quadrangle (1986) but is located at the crossroads at the head of Rains Branch. It is well maintained. There are no unmarked, unidentified graves, though several graves have been there a long time with only temporary markers, one for 21 years. David Donahue recorded this cemetery in late spring or early summer 1991; updated it November 28, 1996; and checked and updated it Oct. 28, 2003.

Margarett Alexander, Blanche Tuten, and Beth Jones recorded this cemetery October 22, 1977. Their record appears in Decatur County, Tennessee Cemetery Records published by the Captain Nathaniel A. Wesson Chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Parsons, Tennessee, 1984, pp. 281-282. This earlier work is referred to as "UDC transcription" in the notes below. There were 22 graves in 1977, none unmarked.
