Wesson Cemetery
Also referred as Sugar Tree
| In the northeastern corner of Decatur County. In recent years it usually is referred to as Sugar Tree Cemetery. Well maintained and probably has fewer than six unmarked graves. In 1997 the cemetery was nearly full within its then area but it has since been expanded. David Donahue recorded Wesson's Chapel cemetery December 22, 1997 and checked and updated it December 25, 2003. This cemetery was recorded previously circa 1979. Persons recording the cemetery are not reported. The record appears in Decatur County, Tennessee Cemetery Records published by the Captain Daniel A. Wesson Chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Parsons, Tennessee, 1984, pp. 602-607. [Note Nathaniel A. Wesson is buried here.] "At least 2 unmarked graves" are noted. This is referred to as the UDC transcription in notes below |
