Elijah Douglas - John Watson
This indenture made and intend into this January 3rd the 3rd the AD 1859 between Elijah Douglas of the County of Decatur and state of Tennessee of the one part and john Watson Sr of county and state above said of the other part witnesseth that for and consideration of the sum of fifty seven 50/100 dollars to be paid ? of is by me acknowledged . I have bargained , sell, and convey and confirm unto the said John Watson Sr , his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract of parcel of land in said county of Decatur and state of Tennessee on Arms Creek Range and section it being a part of a entry in the name Allen Loften for 200 acres bonded as follows. tract beginning at a stake the NEC of said county running hence west 51 poles to a stake .Elm and Poplar pointers hence south 18 poles to a stake. Maple and Ironwood then east 51 poles to a stake. Beech and chestnut Thence North 18 poles to the beginning containing 5 acres. one hundred and eighteen pole to have and to hold the same to said John Watson his heirs and assigns forever. I do covenant with the said John Watson Sr that I am lawfully seized of said land and have good ???? to convey it and that the same is ??? I do further covenant and bind myself, my heirs, and responsibilities / to warrant and forever defend the title to the said land and every part there of to the said john Watson sr , his heirs and assigns forever??/the lawful claims of all persons whatsoever.
