Book 2, p. 328 (Jan 1854)
I, D.E.A. McElrath have this day bargained and Sold and do hereby
transfer & convey unto Dutton Hill and his heirs forever for the
Consideration of Twenty five Dollars to me paid a certain tract of
Land in the State of Tennessee and County of Decatur Range Seven &
Section 11 Being the Same Conveyed to me by Hiram Lacy Sheriff of
Decatur County on the 22 day of November 1850 and Bounded as follows
to wit Beginning at a White Oak in the N East Corner of a 211 acre
Entry in the name of James Morgan and running South 137 poles to a
hickory thence East 54 poles to a White Oak thence North 137 poles to a
hickry and thence West 54 poles to the Beginning. To have and to hold
the Same to the Said Dutton Hill his heirs and assigns forever I do
Covenant with the Said Dutton Hill that I am lawfully Seized of Said
land and have a good right to Convey it I do further Covenant and bind
My Self my heirs & representatives to warrant and defend the title to
Same to the Said Dutton Hill and his heirs and assigns against the
claims of all persons whichever this 17th day of January 1854

McElrath the Bargainer with whom I am personally acquainted and who
acknowledged that he Executed the forgoing deed for the purpose therein
Contained and on the day it bears date Witness my hand at Office this
17th day of January 1854

Then was the forgoing deed the Clerks Certificate and this Certificate
