For and in consideration of the sum of Thirteen Hundred Dollars to us in
hand paid the receipt for the same is hereby acknowledged, We M.A.
Pettigrew J.K. Pettigrew & T.J. Pettigrew have bargained & sold and by
these presents do transfer and Convey unto John J. Lassiter his heirs and
assigns a certain tract or parcel of land in Decatur County State of
Tennessee as follows To wit: Beginning at the S.E. corner of Entry No.
484 for 200 acres in the name of Joel Watts at a post oak Corner and 2
Black-Oak pointers, runs thence West 112 poles to a Post Oak & 2 Post Oak
pointers, thence south 180 poles to a branch thence down the branch with
its meanders to Joel Watts S.E. Corner, thence West 26 poles to a Sassafras
standing on the bank of Rushing Creek, thence down the Creek with its
meanders to the mouth of Dole Kiln Branch, thence with its meanders running
North to a White oak, sweet gum & Hickory pointers, Thence West 14 poles to
a Post-Oak, and Post Oak pointers, thence East 21 6/11 Degs South 75 poles
to a Hickory with a red oak & white oak pointers thence North 84 poles to
a Post Oak, thence West 72 poles to a Black Oak, & Black Oak pointers,
thence South 30 poles to the beginning Containing by estimation Two Hundred
and Sixty Seven and three fourths acres be the same more or less. To Have
and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with the appurtenances,
estate, title and interest thereto belonging to the said John J. Laster
his heirs and assigns forever. And we M.A. Pettigrew J.K. Pettigrew and
T.J. Pettigrew do further Covenant and bind ourselves our heirs and
representatives to warrant and forever defend the title to said land to
the said John J. Lassiter his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims
of all persons whomsoever.

Decatur County } Personally appeared before me J.E. Dees Clerk of the
County Court of Said County the within named Mary A. Pettigrew T.J.
Pettigrew and J.K. Pettigrew the bargainers with whom I am personally
acquainted and acknowledged that they executed the annexed instrument for
the purposes therein contained
