JERRY A. DICKSON - Services for Mr. Jerry A. Dickson were held Saturday, October 29, 2005 with Don Franks officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Parsons Mr. Jerry A. Dickson, 69, of Parsons, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2005 at Decatur County General Hospital. Mr. Dickson was the son of the late Wylie and Flora (Hayes) Dickson. He was a member of Parsons First Baptist Church and he was a retired superintendant with the City of Parsons Water Dept. Survivors include wife Jean (Bowman) Dickson of Parsons, daughter Susan Baker of Decaturville, son Jerry Paul Dickson of Parsons, sister Dorthy Plunk of Parsons, brothers Donald Dickson of Parsons and Robert Dickson of Hohenwald, grandchildren Jody, Whitney, Dakota and Cheyenne Baker and Kevin and Michael Dickson and great grandchildren Bryce and McKenzie Dickson. Jerry was preceded in death by two brothers W.R. Dickson and Ronald Dickson. Pallbearers included Donnie Dickson, Greg Dickson, Keith Dickson, Mark Dickson, Brent Dickson and Darrin Duke. Honorary pallbearers were Lynn Moore, J.R. Wilson, Danny Bates, Bobby Harris, Ricky Baker and Larry Polan

TOMMY RAY DILL - Services for Tommy Ray Dill Jr. wer Tuesday April 15,2 008 at Pafford Funeral Home Scotts Hill. Burial followed in Old Center Cemetery in Bath Springs. Mr. Dill, age 32 died April 12, 2008 at Henderson County Community Hospital. He was preceded in death by his father Tommy Ray Dill Sr. Survivord include his m other, Theresa Collins Wheeler, Blackshear GA; four sisters, Yolanda Dill Lancaster, Scotts Hill; Jennifer Snow, Margaret Snow and Sar Wheeler all of Blackshear GA; two brothers, Michael Helton, Paris Tn and Jason Snow, Minomine WI.

KATE TAYLOR DIXON - Joint services for Kate Taylor Dixon, 92, and her daughter, Virginia Dixon Raney, 66, will be at 2 p.m. today at Reed's Chapel. Burial will be in Decaturville Cemetery. Mrs. Dixon, retired, died Wednesday at Decatur County Manor of heart failure. Mrs. Raney, retired, died Wednesday at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital of liver disease. She is survived by her husband, Hollis Raney of Decaturville; a daughter and a son, Anne Smith and Hugh Raney, both of Decaturville. For more information, call the funeral home at 852-3643.

DAVID LEO DONAHUE died Nov. 8, 2004 at his home in Parsons, Decatur County, Tennessee. He was buried Nov. 10, 2004 at Campground Cemetery which is located west of Decaturville. The funeral was private. David never married. He was fifty-one years old at the time of his death. His deceased parents are also interred at the Campground Cemetery; Leo Joseph Donahue, Mar. 10, 1921-Aug. 10, 2003 and Anne Moore Donahue, Dec. 13, 1919-Aug. 6, 1997. Leo and Anne were married May 25, 1948.

David had a Bachelor’s degree from University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He went straight from high school to UT. David was a history major who also excelled in science. David was an avid historian and genealogist. He spent much time taking and compiling cemetery readings. David was a meticulous researcher. He was a member of the Mid-West Tennessee Genealogical Society. He started an earnest involvement with Internet genealogy in the late 1990s and joined the American Local History Network in 1999. Later, he joined TNGenWeb Project (TNGenNet Inc.) as the Madison County Coordinator. More recently, he was a Co-Coordinator of the TNGenNet’s Tennessee Records Repository. David was the first to offer a helping hand to “lost” genealogists and he was the first to go the extra mile for the them. His good work earned him many friends and admirers. He will be missed.

SHELIA LYNN DOUGLAS , 53, passed away April 28, 2007 at her home. Services were held May 19, 2007 at 3 p.m. at Graveside. Interment followed at Dukes Cemetery (Henderson County). She is preceded by her mother and father, Opal Clarice Douglass and Herman Oscar Douglass. She is survived by her brothers, Don Dee Douglass and David Allen Douglas of NC, sister Donna Douglas Carder of Memphis.

MARIE (HARRELL) DUCK - Services for Mrs. Marie Harrell Duck were Saturday at Boyd Funeral Home in Decaturville with burial in Concord Cemetery. Mrs. Duck, 81, died Thursday at Decatur County Hospital in Parsons. She was a retired teacher and a Methodist. She was the widow of Samuel L. Duck. She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Purnell of Jonesboro AR: a son, John Sam Duck of Paris; two sisters, Ms. Ruth of Decaturville and Ms. Rubie Lee Carter of Nashville and two grandchildren.

LUCILLE DUNAVANT , age 82, of Parsons TN passed away Sunday August 2, 2009 at Decatur Hospital. She was a homemaker an da member of Mt. Zion Church. Lucille is survived by three sons Eddie Dunavant, Myron of Decaturville and Mark Dunavant. Three sisters Helen Rush and Jessie Holt of Taylorville iL and Betty Mays of Parsons; three brothers Odell Scallions of Hopkinsvillee KY; Calvin Scahhions of Taylorville and James of Daleville AL and three grandchildren. She was precedd by her husband Ed Walter Dunavant and a grandaughter Erica Dunavant. Burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery 4 August 2009

JACOB JONATHAN DUNKLE , 69, of Camden, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2007 at Camden Healthcare & Rehab. Mr. Dunkle was born in Decatur County, TN, the son of the late Jacob Dunkle and Fannie Mae Hamm Dunkle. Graveside service was held Monday, August 6, 2007, at the Decaturville Cemetery. Mr. Dunkle is survived by his daughter, Lisa Reel of North Carolina; son, Thomas Dunkle of Camden; sister, Betty Wilson of Paris; and brother, John Dunkle of Decaturville, TN.

JIMMY L. DURBIN - Services for Jimmy L. Durbin were Thursday at Liberty United Meth. Church with the Rev. Bertice Rouse officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Pafford Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Durbin who was 46, died Wednesday morning at Decatur County Hspt. He was owner and operator of a truck service. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Lou Parton Durbin; two stepsons, Larry Roberts and Roy Roberts, both of Parsons; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Diane Dotson of Lexington and Mrs. Shirley Redding of Sardis; his mother, Mrs. Cleo Buck Mangrum of St. Joseph TN; his stepmother, Mrs. Marjorie Davis of Joliet, IL; a sister, Mrs. Sharon Horton of Jackson and a half sister, Mrs. Jackie Hafner of Braidwood IL and three grandchildren.
