CHARLES EDGAR EASON
- Services for Charles Edgar Eason were Wednesday at Scotts Hill Funeral Home with the Revs. Cleo Kelley and J. W. Hanna officiating.
Burial was in Doe Creek Cemetery. Mr. Eason, who was 80, was pronounced dead Tuesday morning at Decatur County General Hospital after a long illness. He was a native of Scotts Hill, a World War II veteran, a retired farmer and a member of the Church of Christ. He leaves nieces and nephews.
DEZZIE JEWEL EASON - Services for Dezzie Jewel Eason were Friday Feb. 5 at Reeds Chapel in Scott Hill with burial in Liberty Cemetery. Ms. Eason who was 101 died Wednesday, Feb. 3 at the Decatur County Hospital. She is survived by one half sister, Mable Goff of Scotts Hill and several nieces and nephews. FLOSSIE (DAVIS) EASON
- Services for Flossie Davis Eason were Saturday at Pleasant Hill Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Brown officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Pafford Funeral Home of Scotts Hill in charge. Mrs. Eason, 84, died Monday in Rockwell TX after a long illness.
MARY SUE (CLENNEY) EASON - Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Sue Eason, 73 years of age, were conducted at Doe Creek Church, near Scotts Hill, Sunday morning. C. C. Johnson and Lawson Thompson were in charge. Mrs. Eason died suddenly at her home Friday night of a heart attack. She was enjoying good health. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include four sons; Coy Eason, Dyersburg; Ed and Bob Eason, Scotts Hill; and Fred Eason, Jackson; two daughters, Miss Minnie Eason and Mrs. Roy Dyer, both of Scotts Hill; three brothers, Will Clenny, Scotts Hill; John Clenny, Ft. Worth, Tex., and Laurel Clenny, Sardis; and a sister, Mrs. J. W. Lee, St. Louis, Mo. Burial was in the church cemetery. JAMES A. EDGIN
, age 72, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 2003. Burial in Liberty Cemetery. Mr. Edgin, a retired employee of the Tennessee Department of Corrections, died Monday, February 10, 2003 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He is survived by his son, Larry Edgin of Jackson; two sisters, Juanita Kern of Jackson, Jeanette Powers of Scotts Hill and one brother, Clyde Edgin of Scotts Hill.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jane Edgin.
THELMA ETHEL (CLENNEY) EDGIN , 84, retired factory worker and homemaker, died of cancer Sunday at the Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Scotts Hill Chapel with burial in Liberty Cemetery. Reeds Chapel in Lexington has charge. Mrs. Edgin, the widow of James Arvon Edgin, leaves two daughters, Juanita Kern of Jackson and Jeanette Powers of Scotts Hill; two sons, James A. Edgin and Clyde Edgin, both of Scotts Hill; a sister, Pearl Cooper of Little Rock; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. MILFORD EDMONDS
- Funeral services for Milford Edmonds were Sunday, October 21, 2007, at Parsons Mortuary Chapel. Burial followed in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Mr. Edmonds, age 84, died October 18, 2007, at Decatur County General Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Mae Edmonds; mother and father, Pearl Hopkins Edmonds and William Edmonds; one daughter, Dale Faye Edmonds; two brothers, Garland and Earl Edmonds; two half brothers, Clyde and Frank Smotherman; one sister Bonnie Stearns. Survivors include two sons, Roger Dean Edmonds, Jackson and Donald Ray Edmonds, Parsons; one sister, Sue Maness, Parsons; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
JIMMY ELVINGTON
- Services for Jimmy Thomas Elvington were july 26, 2010 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home at Scotts Hill. Burial followed in the Scotts Hill Pentecostal Cemetery. Mr. Elvington, age 68, died Saturday, July 24, 2010 in Parsons. He is survived by three sisters, Linda Bailey of Reagan, Brenda Mooney of Sardis and Pearlie Elvington of Sardis; two brothers Raymond Elmo Elvington and Troy Hardin Elvington Jr. both of Lexington. He was preceded in death by his wife Mrs. Neva Elvington, and two brothers; Thomas Ray and Coy Lee Elvington.
JIM ENGLAND
- Services for Jim England were Tuesday, August 18, 1993 at Soul's Harbor Apostolic Church with Bros. Stanley Stone and Mike Yarbro officiating. Burial was in Brasher Cemetery at Bath Springs with Boyd Funeral Home of Scotts Hill in charge. Mr. England, who was 83, died Sunday at Methodist Hospital of Lexington. He was a retired farmer, an Army veteran of WW II and a baptist. He leaves 4 sons, Robert, Charles, Travis and Paul of Decaturville; Four daughters, Opal Goff, Cathy Pearcy, Shirley Lowery and Nellie Kelley - Brother John Cody of St. Louis and 8 grandchildren.
GRACE ESCUE
- passed away Monday Feb. 23, 2009 at Decatur Gen. Hospital. She was the widow of Charlie Escue. Gracie is survived by a sister Grapel Rogers of Humboldt. Services were held Tuesday at Reed's Chapel, Scotts Hill, at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Scotts Hill Pentecostal Cemetery. Visitations will be Wednesday 10 am until service at Reeds Chapel, Scotts Hill.
J. C. "Jake" Etheridge
- Services for J.C. "Jake" Etheridge were Tuesday November 9, 1999 at Reeds Chapel, Decaturville, with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Mr. Etheridge, who was 75, died Sunday, November 7, 15 Decatur County General Hsp. He was a retired business owner and a Navy veteran. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Lavon Brasher Etheridge, a half sister, Dorothy Ivey of Reagan, a half brother Loys Montgomery of Scotts Hill
JOHN H. EVANS
, aged about 60 years died suddenly Sunday morning about 4 o'clock at his home in Decaturville. Mr. Evans had been afflicted with erysipelas and rheumatism but was able to be up and go to town on the day before his death. He is survived by two sons, Tom, who lives in Decaturville, Will of Lexington and a daughter, Sallie married to W. L. Wheatt and lived in Decaturville. He is survived by his wife. He was a member of the Southtern Methodist Church. When the news reached Lexington of his death, his son, Will who was in Memphis was finally reached by wire and he cam to the service in Decaturville by auto.
