JAKE L. FERGUSON - The body of Jake L. Ferguson, killed in Korea April 16, 1951 will arrive here this Friday afternoon at 4:35. Services will be conducted Saturday from Peace Chapel Church by the Rev. Edwin Deusner. Military services will be given at the grave. Sgt. Ferguson was only 20 years of age at the time of his death. The body will remain at Pafford Funeral Home until time for the funeral. He leaves his father, J.O. Ferguson Sr; six brothers, J.O. Jr., Lexington; John of Virginia, Bill with the army in Germany; Ray of Aukland New Zealand, Roy of Lexington and Eugene of Memphis; two sisters, Mrs. Arby Scott of Holland MO and Mrs. Idell Harrington of Memphis.

JUANITA (DUCK) FERNSTROM , 82, died Monday, November 10, 2003. Vistitation and the funeral were held on November 11, 2003, at Parsons Mortuary in Parsons Tennessee. Burial was in Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Parsons, Tennessee. Johnny Felker and Rev. Barney E. Austin officiated. Pallbearers were six of her nephews. Her loving husband of 49 years, Edward B. Fernstrom, her parents, Roy L. Duck and Jewel Armstrong Duck, and her two brothers, Roy Benton Duck and Robert Johnston Duck, preceded Juanita in death.

Juanita is survived by her son, Edward B. “Butch” Fernstrom and his wife Daphne of Ft. Worth, Texas; oldest daughter, Pat Austin and her husband Barney of Millington, TN; youngest daughter, Dr. Pam Fernstrom of Florence, Alabama; her brother and sister-in-law, Billy C. and Bernice Duck of Memphis, TN; her sister and brother-in-law, Martha C. and D.C. Crawford of Dancyville, TN; eight nephews, Tom, John, Jim, Mark and Tom Benton Duck, Craig, Bill and Chris Crawford; five grandchildren, Karen Berry (Mark), David Austin (Stephanie), Kristy Payne (Eugene), Meaghan and Landon Geary, and Gabby Ferstrom; and seven great-grandchildren, Will and Zack Austin, Stephen, Ashley, and Matthew Berry and Austin and Noah Payne. Juanita lived in five states with her family but loved her home state of Tennessee best. She was always the loving mother to her own children and her extended family. Juanita enjoyed fishing and boating in the Tennessee River and loved to laugh with her family. She was also a retired bookkeeper and jewelry store manager. Juanita will be greatly missed from the “Duck Pond.”

CHARLES L. FISHER - Funeral services for Mr. Charles L. Fisher were held Monday, July 23, 2007 at Parsons Mortuary. Burial followed at Red House Cemetery.Mr. Charles, age 51, passed away July 21, 2007 at Westwood Health Care Center. He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse G. Fisher, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Ruth M. Fisher of Decaturville and one brother, Jesse Glenn Fisher of Washington.

CLEVELAND RAY FISHER , 87, of Parsons, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at Decatur County Manor. Services were held on Friday, December 16, 2005 with Don Franks and Arthur Bain officiating. Masonic Rites followed at the funeral home. Interment followed in the Bear Creek Cemetary in Parsons. Mr. Fisher was the son of the late William Albert and Effie (Gross) Fisher. He was a member of Parsons Masonic Lodge #586, was a Methodist, and was retired from Vulcan Materials. He also was a retired farmer. He is survived by daughters Carolyn (Bill) Newsom of Savannah; Bonnie (Ronnie) Bulter of Parsons; son Larry D. (Faye) Fisher of Lexington; sister Nina O’Guin of Parsons; brother James Fisher of Jackson; nine grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Neva Sue (Culp), by two daughters Rebecca Stricklin, and Rose Marie Fisher. Pallbearers included Scott Fisher, Stewart Fisher, Stephen Fisher, Dwight Fisher, Brian White and Brandon Franks. EULA LEE FISHER - Funeral services for Eula Fisher will be today, at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2007. Interment will follow in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. Mrs. Fisher, age 96, died Sunday at Decatur County General Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband Elbert Fisher. Survivors include one sister, Mildred Crawley, Decaturville; one granddaughter; one grandson; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be today at 9:00 a.m. until service at Reed’s Chapel-Decaturville.

BRENDA SUE (MANESS) FLANAGAN - Funeral services for Brenda Flanagan are scheduled January 3, 2009 at Reeds Chapel in Scotts Hill. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery. Ms. Flanagan died peacefully in Memphis on Dec. 24, 2008. She was born Auust 2, 1953 to Dorothy Mae McCormick Maness and the late Fred Carson Maness. Survivors include her mother Dorothy Maness Clenney, Lexington. She was preceded by her husband Bill Flanagan; her father, Fred Maness; one brother, Freddy Dale Maness.

DARLENE D. (HARDIN) FLOYD - Funeral services for Mrs. Darlene D. Floyd were Monday, July 16, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church. Burial followed at Hopewell Cemetery. Mrs. Floyd, age 39, died on Thursday, July 12, 2007 at Decatur County General Hospital. She is survived by her parents, Leona and Kenneth Hardin of Parsons; her husband, James Floyd of Parsons; four sons, James P. Floyd, of North Carolina, Joshua Floyd, Zach Floyd, and Johnny Floyd, all of Parsons; one daughter, Michelle Floyd, of North Carolina; one brother, Keith Scott Hardin, of Parsons; and two grandchildren.
