HENRY HARRY GIBSON
Funeral servies for Henry (Uncle Harry) Gibson who passed
away at this home in Erick Wednesday following an illness of
nine weeks will be held Friday, July 3 at the First Baptist Church
in Erikc. Rev. D. D. Barber and Rev. E. D. Grim will officiate.
Mr. Gibson had been a resident of Beckham county for 42 years
coming to the Delhi community on April 26, 1900. In the spring
of 1916 he moved to Erick where he has made his home for these
many years. He was born on August 22, 1865 at Poplar Springs, Tennessee, and
he died on July 1, 1942 at the age of 77 years. On September 10, 1885 he was
married to Miss Martha Ann Riggs who preceded him in death.
He was father of ten children, five of whom survived hime. They are Mrs. Eva Ervin, Sayre, Mrs. RElla
Head, Monte Rose, California, Mrs. Goldie Sulivan, Los Angeles Mrs. Evaline Hance, Okla-
homa City, and Carlie Gibson. He is also survived by one brogher,
George Gibson, Clayton, New Mexico, 18 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Burial will be in the Delhi cemetery by Fatheree Funeral Home.

JERRY GIBSON
Services for Mr. Jerry Gibson, 59 of Parsons, were held Wednesday Sept. 15 5 p.m. at Rev. Lawton G. Brewer chapel, Brewer Funeral Home, Parsons, with Bro. Jackie Hicks and Bro. Charles Taylor officiating. Interment was in Parsons City Cemetery. Mr. Gibson died September 10, 1999 at Vanderbilt Univ. Hsp. Nashville, due to injuries sustained in a fire at his home. He was a laborer.

MARTHA (RIGGGS) GIBSON
Mrs. Martha Riggs was born in Decatur county, Tennessee, February 26, 1862. She gave her life
to Jesus and united with the Baptist church about 58 years ago, to which she has been a faithful
members until her work on this earth was finished and she was
called to that heavenly home on October 9, 1940 at the age of 76
years, 7 months and 13 days. She was married to Harry Gibson at
Decatur, Tennessee, August 22, 1888 and to this union 10 children were born, five of whom
preceded her to the Great Beyond. She leaves her husband, Harry
Gibson, one son Carley, of Erick;four daughters, Mrs. Eva Ervin of
Sayre, Mrs. Rellie Head of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Goldie Sullivan of Los Angeles, Calif., and
Mrs. Evalin Hance of Oklahoma City.
Eighteen grandchildren who survive are: Mrs. Floyd Blair, Borger, Tex.; Mrs. Aurell Robertson of
Erick; Mrs. Jack Graham, Oklahoma City; Mrs. Lester Hurst, Oklahoma City; Mrs. Georgie Henshaw, San Francisco, Calif; J. D.
Hance, Clovis, N. M.; Mrs. Olan Wester, Tipton, Okla.; Waymon C.
Gibson, Stillwater, Okla; Jay Wayne, Clarence, Charles and
Shelia Ann Gibson, all of Erick; Leo and T. J. Sullivan of Los Angeles, Calif; Willie Sullivan of
Norman; Mrs. LaVerne Hester of Los Angeles, Calif.; Alareda Head
of Oklahoma City; and Rex Head of Orange, Calif.
Two great grandchildren, Dale Glenn Wester of Tipton and
Jackie Lee Graham of Oklahoma City also survive.
For a little more than 40 years, Mrs. Gibson had lived near Delhi
and in Erick, where she made a host of friends who mourn her depature.
Funeral services were held Friday, October 11, 1940 from the First Baptist church of Erick, Rev.
D. D. Barber officiating, assisted by Rev. W. H. Gayer. Active pall-
bearers were six grandsons Waymon C., and Jay Wayne Gibson, Willie Sullivan, J. D. Hance, Oral
Robertson and Jack Graham. Honorary bearers were four grandchildren, Floyd Blair, Lester Hurst,
Olin Wester and Troy Bulland. Flower bearers were seven granddaughters, Annie Robertson, Myrle
Blair, Alareda Head, Tresa Wester, Helen Graham, Alamay Hurst and Lereta Chaplin.
Interment was in the Delhi Cemetery, with the Fatheree funeral home in charge of arrangements.

EWING GOFF
- A celebration of Mr. Ewing Lafayette Goff will be conducted on Wednesday, February 1, 2006, from the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with Rev. Carl McKellar officiating. The commital service will be held at 2:00 pm at Scotts Hill First Pentecostal Church Cemetery.
Mr. Goff, age 94, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 28, 2006. Mr. Goff, who had been declining in health for several months, passed away at home with his children and relatives present.
Mr. Goff lived in the Jackson area since 1951. He was born on September 14, 1911, in Scotts Hill, TN., the son of the late William and Ida Smith Goff. Mr. Goff was the last surviving member of the 1929 Scotts Hill High School state championship basketball team. He was a devoted member of the Bemis Petecostal Church.
Mr. Goff was a production supervisor at the Milan Arsenal for many years, including the World War II and Korean War era. He was also in the timber industry as well as being an active farmer and gardener.
Mr. Goff was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Jewell Hazel Eason Goff, and his son, William Cleo Goff. He is survived by four children, Ewing Elco Goff, Linda (Bill) Farmer all of Jackson, Kaye (Pat) Roberson of Helena, AR., and Jerry Eason (Carole) Goff of Nashville. Other survivors include seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Grandsons, George, Jerry II, Jonathon and Jeff Goff, Patrick, Jon and Chris Roberson, will serve as pallbearers. Members of the usher staff and the Men’s Bible Class will serve as honorary pallbearers

Mr. Goff, age 94, died Sunday, January 28, 2006 at his home. He is survived by two sons, Ewing Elco Goff, Jackson and Jerry Eason Goff, Nashville ; two daughters, Linda Farmer, Jackson and Kaye Robertson, Helena, AR.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Goff was preceded in death by his wife Jewell Hazel Eason Goff and one son William Cleo Goff.

WILLIAM LEWIS GOFF
- Services for William Lewis Goff were Tuesday at the Scotts Hill Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Cleo Kelly and the Rev. Gordon Jackson officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Pafford Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Goff, 94, died Sunday night at the Decatur County Hospital after a long illness. He was a retired farmer and had lived in Scotts Hill all his life. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church. He leaves two sons, Hubert Goff of Scotts Hill and Ewing Goff of Jackson; a daughter, Mrs. Mary E. Green of Memphis; a brother, Lester Goff of Scotts Hill; eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

- Services for Hettie Weatherford Grimsley will be today January 21, 2009 at Mt. Tabor CHurch, Parsons TN at 2 p.m. Mr. Grimsley age 92, died Monday January 19, 2009 at Decatur County Gen. Hsp. SHe was preceded by her husband Robert Grimsley; a daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Weatherford and two brothers Theodore and Horton Weatherford. Survivors include two sisters Clara Parrish of Parson s and Betty Fleming of Decaturville; two brothers James Weatherford and Charles Weatherford both of Decaturville.

MELISSA (GIBBS) GRISHAM
- Funeral services for Mrs. Melissa (Grandmother) Grisham, age 86, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday April 17, 2008 at teh First Pentecostal Church in Lexington with Bro. Bobby Beecham officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemestery in Morris Chapel, TN. Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Grisham died early Tuesday ($/14/08) in Jackson. She was born November 30, 1921 in Hardin County to the late Claude and Elsie (Ratliff) Gibbs. She was a homemaker and a member of First Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by her husband MR. Lendon Grisham, one son, Raymond, one daughter, Brenda Kay Hopper and a grandson, Nicholas Grisham. Survivors include her three sons, Claude (Sherry) of Sardis, Kenneth ofJackson, and Sam (Mary) of Hendersonville, one daughter, Donna Sue (Tom) Evans of Jackson, one sister Marie Flatt of Adamsville, 15 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

MRS. LESSIE GURLEY
- Services for Mrs. Lessie Lee Gurley were Friday at Parsons Mortuary with burial in Iron Hill Cem. Mrs. Gurley, 86, died Thursday at Lexington Manor Nursing Home. She leaves four daughters, Mrs. Bewton Patterson, Mrs. Elberta Gooch, both of Parsons, Mrs. Annis Johnes of Lexington and Freida Gurley ofMemphis; two sons, Franklin of Parsons and Vernon of Nashville; 13 grandchildren.

ROBERT C. GURLEY
- Services for Robert C. "Bob" Gurley, 87, of the Perryville community, were today at Perryville Baptist Church with teh Rev. Jimmy Boroughs officiating. Burial was in Sardis Ridge Cemetery. Mr. Gurley, a retired carpenter, died Monday afternoon at Decatur County Gen. Hsp. after a long illness. A Perryville native, he was a World War II Veteran and a member of Perryville Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Bobbie Gavin of Buffalo NY and Mattie Moras of Seattle; a sister, Essie King of Prsons; nine grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.

ROBERT E. GURLEY
- Services for Robert E. Gurley, 76, were held at Parsons Mortuary with Elder Elmer Weaver officiating. Burial was at Wylie Cemetery. Mr. Gurley, a retired farmer, died, Thursday afternoon at Jackson Madison Co. following surgery. He had lived most of his life in the Bath Springs area. Surviving are his wife, Vera Maners Gurley; a daughter Mrs. Betty Hughes of Jackson and three sisters, Mrs. Vessie Howell of McKenzie, Mrs. Callie McCollum of Lexington and Mrs. Effie Thompson of Steele MO.

- Services for Mrs. Sylvia Gurley will be Thursday August 23, 3 p.m. at Iron Hill CHurch. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Parsons Mortuary in charge. Mrs. Gurley, who was 76, died Monday, August 20 at Jackson General Hospital of heart failure. She was a homemaker. She leaves her husband, Graden Franklin of Parsons; a son Darryl of Parsons; three daughters, Wanda Wilson of Memphis, Grenda Baine of Parsons and Julia White of Decaturville; a brother, Billy Graves of Parsons; three sisters, Jean Young, Anita Baker, of Parsons and Diane Beecham of Lexington.
