LORENE HAYNES
- Funeral services for Mrs. Lorene Haynes, age 79, of Parsons, were held Thursday, January 6 in the chapel of Decatur County Funeral Home. Internment will follow in Cub Creek Hall Cemetery . Mrs. Haynes died Tuesday January 4 at Decatur County General Hospital . She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Haynes; and a son, Larry Haynes. Survivors include two sons, Darrell Haynes of Columbus , MS and Harold Haynes of Franklin , TN ; 8 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

ETHEL CELESTIA (RAINS) HOUSTON
, wife of E.J. Houston, died at her home in Parsons last Sunday morning, aged about 45 years and leaves a husband and seven children. Deceased was a daughter of the late Dr. W.G. Rains and is survived by her mother, whose maiden name was Miss Joan Parker and was reared in Henderson County. She was a member of the Southern Methodist Church.

JOE E. HOUSTON
, 68, of Trumann AR, died Saturday May 17, 2008 at St. Bernards Med. Ctr in Jonesboro. He was born in Parsons TN and had lived in Trumann for the past 1 1/2 years. He was a retired cutting room supervisor for Salant and Salant, an avid outdoorsman and of the Baptist faith. Mr. Houston wa spreceded by his parents Roy and Martha Knight Houston, two sisters and four brothers. Survivors include his wief, Caroline Houston of the home, two daughters, susy Houston of Parsons and Amy Karrigan of Allen TX; three sisters, Georgia Mae Woods ofMaywood IL; Lucille Kindle of Parsons and Patsy Reeves of Darden TN; two grandchildren, Madison Karriagan and McKenna Karrigan. Services were at the First General Baptist Church in Truman with Bro Jimmy Burroughs and Kevin Watkins officiating. Burial followe din the Jones Memorial Park Cem. Pallbearser were Krestopher Karrigan, Tyler Watkins, Daniel Watkins, Tony Holt, Gary Smith and Michael Smith.

- Services for Lorraine K. Houston, age 86, will be October 29 at 3:00 p.m. at Parsons Mortuary Chapel. Internment will follow at Parsons Memorial Gardens . Mrs. Houston died October 27 at Decatur Co. General Hospital . She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Houston.

LUCILLE V. HOUSTON
- Services for Lucille V. Houston were November 8 at Parsons Mortuary with burial in Parsons City Cemetery. Mrs. Houston, 82, died November 7, 1999 at Decatur County Hsp. She was a retired factory worker. She leaves her husband Dallas Houston of Parsons, a son Jack V. of Parsons; a brother James Vise of Decaturville, two sisters, Maxine Brasher of Decaturville and Loraine Howie of MT, a grandchild and two great-grandchildren.

OLEN RAY HOUSTON
, 103, of Parsons, passed away Monday, November 14, 2005 at Decatur County Manor. Mr. Houston was born on July 21, 1902 in the Bear Creek Community were he has lived most of his life. He was the son of the late William Elbert and Zenetta Elnora (Duke) Houston.
He was a member of Bear Creek Baptist Church for over 93 years, served as a deacon for over 74 years, has served as Sunday School Director, Church Clerk, Music Director, and Sunday School Teacher. Mr. Houston worked most of his life at Salant and also farmed. He served years as a Decatur County Magistrate and two terms as Decatur Co. Register of Deeds. He is survived by his wife, Lura Mae (Rhodes) Houston whom he married Jan. 12, 1935. Daughters Johnnye Sue (Irvin) Baldwin of Parsons and Kay Sibert of Parsons; sons Glen Houston of Parsons, Dewey Houston of Milan., C.L. (Alice) Houston of Parsons, TN., and Vance (Gloria) Houston of Ohio; brother Carmen Houston of Oak Ridge; Daughter-in-law Dorthy (Hays) Houston of Paris.
He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, James Ray Houston, a daughter, Dorothy Horton, by a brother, Royce Houston, a sister, Clois Wood, by one grandson and one great grandson.
Service were held at Bear Creek Baptist Church, Parsons, TN. on Thursday, November 17, with Brother Mike Hollaway and Brother Raymond Hollaway officiating.
