IRIS MALONE the two year old daughter of Mrs. Hattie Malone, wife of Will Malone, living near Decaturville, and near the home of her grandmother, Mrs. J.T. Rogers, was accidentally burned to death Wednesday. Mrs. Malone seems to have stepped out into the yard or garden, leaving the little one sitting on the floor and the baby finding a paper sack on the floor, toddled to the fire and ignited it. From the burning paper the clothing of the child caught fire, causint burns to the body from which death ensued in a few hours. Mrs. Malone is a niece ofMrs. W.V. Barry and a sister of Fireman Will Rogers, who is living here with the Barry family.

ERVIN D. MANESS - Services for Ervin D. Maness were Wednesday April 24, 1996 at Liberty United Methodist Church with Boyd Funeral Home Parsons in charge. Mr. Maness, 95, died Monday April 22, 1996 at his home in Sardis. He was a retired farmer. he leaves his wife, Mrs. Zula Scott Maness of Sardis; a son, Billy of Huntsville AL; four daughters, Lois Murphy, Helen barnes, both of Jackson, Joceil Pryor of Memphis and Linda Holyfield of Gadsden TN; two sisters, Grace Montgomery of Sardis and Gertie Montgomery of Scotts Hill and 14 grandchildren.

GEORGE OKLA MANESS - Funeral services for George Okla Maness will be today Wednesday, September 12, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. at Reed’s Chapel-Decaturville. Entombment will follow at Concord Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted at the cemetery. Mr. Maness, age 90, passed away Monday, September 10, 2007, at Decatur County General Hospital. Survivors include Lou Nell (Jones) Maness; one daughter, Rebecca Taylor, Decaturville; one son, Johnny Ralph Maness, Parsons; two sisters, Mildred Hill, Decaturville and Anne Stuart, Martin; one brother, Robert Rainey, Decaturville; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Mr. Maness 85, died Monday afternoon at Hardin County General Hospital after a short illness. He was a retired farmer. He leaves his wife Mrs. Gladys Montgomery Maness; two sons, Don and Ralph both of Scotts Hill; two sisters, Mrs. Grace Montgoery of Sardis and Mrs. Gertie Montgomery of Scotts Hill; a brother Ervin Maness of Sardis and five grandchildren.

LEONA CLENNEY MANESS - Services for Mrs. Leona Maness were Saturday Oct. 5, 1996 at Red Walnut Church of Christ, Scotts Hill. Burial was in the church cemetery with Pafford Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Maness, 72, died Wed. Oct. 2, 1996 at Henry County Med. Ctr. in Paris. She was a housewife and the widow of Clyde L. Maness. She leaves two daughters, Barbara Bucy of Buchanan TN. and Sandra Bazemore of Santa Clara CA; four brothers Curtis Clenney, Jimmy Clenney, both of Jackson, Carmen of Harrisburg PA and Arlie of Los Angeles. Three sisters, Violet Clark of Scotts Hill, Essie Jones of Milan and Gladys Franks of MS.

ROBY THOMAS MANESS - Services for Roby Thomas Maness were Monday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Earl Owens officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Parsons Mortuary in charge. Mr. Maness, who was 54, died of smoke inhalation early Sunday morning while trying to extinguish a fire at his home. He was found unconscious in his burning home with a water hose in his hand by his wife and son. He was rushed to Decatur County Hospital where he was pronounced dead. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Apha Maness; a foster son, Gary Overman of Decaturville and three sisters, Mrs. Hessie Holt, Mrs. Ottie Young and Mrs. Lois Weaver, all of Lexington.

ZANA LOU MANESS - Services for Mrs. Zana Lou Maness are today Sept. 20, 2000 at Reeds Chapel, Decaturville with burial in Concord Cemetery. Mrs. Maness, 64, died Monday, Sept. 18, 2000 at Camden Rehab Center of cerebral hemorrhage. She was a retired factory worker. She leaves her husband, Thomas Maness; two daughters, Ramona Ann Maness and Tammy Lou Borron both of Decaturville; five sisters Imogene Jordan, Nell Denham, both of Parsons, Edna Parnell fo Linden, Lydia Burton of Flowermount TX and Patsy Stewart of Paducah KY.

LECTOR D. MARR - Services for Lector D. Marr were Saturday at Peace Chapel with the Revs. Don Jones and Dennis Smith officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Thomas-Scotts Hill Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Marr, who was 78, died Thursday during his return trip from a visit to Peoria after a long illness. He was a lifelong resident of Decatur County, a retired farmer and a Baptist. He leaves his wife Mrs. Vestie Mae Marr; three sons, Cecil of Parsons, L.V. of Scotts Hill and Dewey of Enville; a stepson, Max Ray Blackstock of Nashville; five daughters, Miss Inez Marr of Scotts Hill, Mrs. Genola Whie of Peoria, Mrs. Bernice Craig of Sardis, Mrs. Mary Sue Rosson of Parsons and Mrs. patsy Parish of Nashville; three half=brothers, Perry Moore, Troy Moore both of Parsons and J.t. Mr. Mayes, who was 63, died Monday at the Veterans Hospital in Nashville after a long illness. He was a veteran of World War II. He leaves his mother, Mrs. Coratueton Mayes of McMinnville; two sons, Kenneth Mayes and Bobby Mayes, both of Medford , Ore. ; a daughter, Mrs. Pattie Ray of Medford , Ore. ; a brother, J. D. KOBE and KAYLEE McDOWELL - Joint funeral services for Kaylee Alexus McDowell, age 3, and her brother, Kobe McDowell, age 4, are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. today, Wednesday, October 31, 2007, in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Bawcum Cemetery near Parsons. The siblings died Sunday, October 28, 2007 near Lexington. THOMAS EWIN McKENZIE - Services for Thomas Ewin McKenzie, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Curt McKenzie of near Scotts Hill, were held at Peace Chapel Sunday afternoon. Bro. J.B. Austin spoke briefly and Chaplain Walker of the American Legion had charge of the remainder of the service. Mr. McKenzie was killed Wednesday night when a training plane crashed and burned a short distance of north of Memphis Airport. Pvt. McKenzie had been on duty in Memphis since April. Surviving are his parents; three sister, Mrs. Everett Teague, Dolly Ellen McKenzie, Memphis and Rebecca Gail of Scotts Hill; three brothers, Curtis Jr., Floyd and Rufus all at home. Burial was in the church cemetery with full military honors. Pallbearers were from the 516 Air Reserve Unit of Memphis. Wylie and Gurley Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

JOANN (YARBRO) McPEAKE , 70, of Parsons passed away Monday 27 July 2009 at Jackson Hospital. She was an LPH and was a member of Rock Hill Baptist CHurch. JoAnn is survived by two sons Keith (Vicky) McPeake of Wildersville and Shane (Sheree) McPeake, of Lexington; a sister, Shirley Allen of Decaturville; two grandchildren, Shannon (Candi) MCPeake, Heather McPeake; and one great grandchild. A special niece Jeannie ALlen; special newphews Chris and Greg Allen and one great niece Chesney Allen. She wsa precdeceased by a son Dudley McPeake. Services will be Wednesday at 2 at Reeds Chapel in Decaturville. Johnny Owens officiating and burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Bath Springs.

MITTIE (JOHNSON) McPEAKE - Services for Mrs. Mittie Johnson McPeak, 81, of Decaturville, were held Wednesday, June 8, 3:00 p.m. , at Decaturville First United Methodist Church , with Reverend Paul Mullikin and Reverend Lavaughn Moody officiating. Interment was in Decaturville City Cemetery . Mrs. McPeak died Tuesday, June 7, at Decatur County Hospital . She was a retired postal employee, member of Eastern Star of Decaturville First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Roy N. McPeak, Decaturville; two sons, John McPeak, Nashville , and Roy McPeak, Jr., Decaturville; one daughter, Mrs. Jane (McPeak) Yearwood, Memphis . She has 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. One grandson, Tommy McPeak, preceded her in death. Honorary pallbearers were Landon White, Frank Hardin, William Mac Johnson, Billy Muriel Johnson, Joe Johnson and James Lawson England . Active pallbearers were Bart McPeak, Brad McPeak, Danny Yearwood, Johnny McPeak, Joey McPeak, Jon Yearwood and Tray McPeak.

Burial was in Decaturville City Cemetery with Boyd Funeral Home in charge. Mr. McPeake, who was 90, died Tuesday at Decatur County General Hospital . He was born in Henderson County and taught school in both Henderson and Decatur Counties . He was a Baptist. He leaves two sons, Nelson McPeake, Jr. of Memphis and John McPeake of Decaturville; a daughter, Mrs. Jane Yearwood of Memphis ; a sister, Mrs. Kizzie Connell of Lexington , 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

WALTER EUGENE McPEAKE - Services for Walter E. McPeak Jr. were Thursday, August 25 at Boyd Decaturville Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Yarbro officiating. Burial was in Decaturville Cemetery . Mr. McPeak, who was 47, died Monday, August 22, in a house fire. He was a disabled tow boat worker. He leaves two sons, Bart McPeak and Brad McPeak, both of Decaturville; a daughter, Sandy Stanfill of Lexington and two grandsons.

RUTH LEE (YARBRO) MIDDLETON , age 76, passed away on April 8th at Decatur County General Hospital. Services were held last Wednesday at Parsons Mortuary Chapel, with Bro. Robin Rotgers officiating. Interment followed at Campground Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her brother, Eugene Yarbro, and her sister, Nancy Daugherty. She is survived by her sons, Paul Middleton Jr. of Dickson and Kenith Middleton of Casper; a daughter, Sheila Quinn of Holladay; two brothers, Ralph Yarbro of Memphis and J.L. Yarbro of Covington; and two sisters, Dorothy Reeves of Darden and Joyce Sartain of Memphis. Other survivors include three grandchildren, Steven Middleton, Mike Rushing and Hayley Middleton; two great-grandchildren, Jacely Middleton and Kanin McKnight; one step-grandson, Josh Quinn, and one step-great-grandchild, Abby Quinn.

ALBERT ANDREW MILLER - Services for Mr. Albert Andrew Miller, 65, of Lobelville, were held Sunday, December 31, 2:00 p.m., at Oak Grove Cemetery, with McDonald Funeral Home of Linden in charge. Mr. Miller died December 29 at Perry Memorial Hospital in Linden. He was an Army veteran and deputy sheriff with the Perry County Sheriff's Department. Survivors include his wife, Janie Miller, Lobelville; two sons, Michael Miller and Timmy Miller, both of Parsons; a stepdaughter, Darlene Higdon, Linden; a brother, Lonnie Miller, Sugar Tree; a sister, Pauline Bawcum, Nashville; two grandchildren, Cody and Bradley Higdon, both of Linden. BOSS MITCHELL JR. - Services for Sgt. Boss Mitchell Jr.35, who died in Ft. Howard MD Monday after a long illness, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Parsons Mortuary with the REv. Clovis Turnbow officiating. Burial will be in Campground Cemetery. His parents are Mrs. Maggie Panik and the late Boss Mitchell Sr. Sgt. Mitchell was a farmer before entering the armed forces 12 years ago. Besides his mother he leaves his widow Lillian; two sons, Randolph A. and RObert S. all of Ft. Howard; six sisters, Mrs. Eugene Rushing of St. Louios, Mrs. Rubie Tanner of Decaturville, Mrs. Vaughn Hamm of Beacon, Mrs. Robert Coleman of Lauderdale MS, Mrs. Kelley Miller of Chicago and Mrs. J.L Boyd of Parsons; five hal-brothers and five half-ssisters.

DONNIE MITCHELL - Services for Donnie Mitchell were held Friday at Parsons Mortuary Chapel. Internment was held at Yellow Springs Cemetery . Mr. Mitchell, 41, died January 2 at Decatur County General Hospital . He is preceded in death by his father, George Mitchell. Survivors include his fiancé, Lisa Messer of Parsons; his mother, Herman Mitchell of Parsons; a brother, Bobby Mitchell of Texas ; 3 half brothers, George Mitchell, Jr., Hayden Mitchell, and Curtis Mitchell, all of Mississippi; and 2 half-sisters, Kathy Cruse of Parsons and Jean Garrett of Mississippi.

ERNEST W. MITCHELL - as born August 20, 1918 in the Prospect Community of Henderson County. He was one of twelve children born to Arbie Elizabeth Harwell and John Walter Mitchell. He passed away Friday, April 9, 2004 at Decatur County General Hospital. He attended rural schools in the Liberty and Prospect area and graduated from Scotts Hill High School in 1938. On October 16, 1938 he married R.T. McCollum. Two children were born to this union Johnny Spencer Mitchell and Marilyn Mitchell. R.T. McCollum Mitchell now resides in New Braunfels, Texas. Ernest was employed by the State of Tennessee for twenty years as a wild life officer. He retired from his duties as a wild life officer in 1976. At this time he returned to the family farm where he had lived as a child.

In 1966, Ernest married Mary Shannon Peppers. Mary had three daughters Sandra, Linda, and Sheri Peppers. He loved farm life, enjoyed nature, hunting, fishing, and sports. But most of all he enjoyed being surrounded by his family, friends, and helping neighbors in the community. Ernest was a diligent worker in the Liberty United Methodist Church. He inherited from his mother an unbounded love and commitment to this his church. Ernest united by Baptism with the church in 1944. In 1956 he moved his membership to the Hohenwald, TN United Methodist Church where he and his family were living. After retirement he returned to the church of his youth, Liberty United Methodist Church, remaining there until death. His intense belief in the power of our heavenly father gave him comfort and strength as he walked the pathway of life, especially as he struggled in his last years with failing health. He served on the Decatur County School Board for twelve years, and took great pride in the accomplishment of the school system. He felt fortunate to represent the parents and children of his district and county. Attending school events especially basketball games was a passion for Ernest. He supported the Scotts Hill teams by his presence until declining health intervened.

Funeral Services were held Sunday, April 11, 2004 at Liberty Methodist Church in Scotts Hill, TN. Interment followed at Liberty Cemetery. Ernest Mitchell is survived by his devoted wife Mary Peppers Mitchell, Sardis, TN. One son Johnny Spencer Mitchell (Shearon) New Braunfels, Texas. One daughter Marilyn Mitchell Le Fevre (Joseph) Kileen, Texas. Four grandsons Jeff Mitchell (Nancy) Farmington, New Mexico, Greg Mitchell (Cho-Nai) Concord, California, Fatrick Le Fevre (Heather) Boston, Mass, and Justin Le Fevre, San Marcos, Texas. Two great-grandchildren Jane Lee and Mason Spencer Mitchell, Concord, California. Three step daughters Sandra Peppers, Memphis, TN, Linda Peppers Hayes, Savannah, TN., and Sheri Cotham (David) Nolensville, TN. Four step granddaughters Katie and Lisa Hayes Savannah, TN., Carla Cotham, Nolensville and Christi Cotham Jackson, TN. One brother Kenneth Mitchell (Aileen) Scotts Hill, TN. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Walt and Arbie Mitchell, sisters Avis Mitchell, and Gladys Pratt, brothers Tom, Harry, Lilburn, Gordon, Brice, Harwell, Clyde and Clifford Mitchell.

CLIFTON D. MONROE - Funeral services for Clifton D. Monroe, 82, Thursday, October 6, 2005 at the Parsons Mortuary Chapel in Parsons with Brother Terry Rhodes and Brother Dan. E. McFall officating. Interment followed Sardis Ridge Cemetery. He died Monday, October 3, 2005 at his home. He was born July 30, 1923 in Gallatin, Tennessee, the son of the Late Frank and Mary Monroe. He attended school in Antioch, Tennessee. Clifton came to Perryville in the early 1940’s. he married Lucille Tomlin and together they were the original founders of Monroe’s Restaurant. He was an entrepreneur wiht many business interests in Florida and Tennessee. He is survived by his wife Marie Epperson Monroe, three sons, Harold Cates of Mt. Juliet, Jimmy (Peggy) Monroe and Johnny (Donna) Monroe of Parsons; 15 grandchildren, 23 great - grandchildren; 2 sisters, Pat Walker of Camp Woods, Texas and Sandell Griggs of Ft. Hancock, Tx. Clifton was preceded in death by his wife Lucille Tomlin Monroe, a grandson Frankie Monroe, a sister Estelle Tubbs, and a brother Leon Graves. He was a member and attended Bunches Chapel Baptist Church. He leaves many friends and relatives. Pallbearers were Lynn Monroe, Ricky Monroe, Tony Monroe, Jay Monroe, Ralph Cole and John Walker.

ALMA T. MONTGOMERY - Services for Alma T. Montgomery were held on Monday at Parsons Mortuary Chapel with burial at Sardis Ridge Cemetery . Mrs. Montgomery, age 93, died on July 5 at Decatur County General Hospital . Survivors include 3 sons, R. C. Montgomery of Parsons, Joe Montgomery of Brentwood , and Thomas Montgomery of Tuscumbia , ALA ; 2 daughters, Velera Milan of Parsons and Edwina Butler of Decaturville; 2 half brothers, Paul D. Moore of Parsons and James V. Moore of Memphis; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

CLARA MONTGOMERY - Services for Mrs. Clara A. Montgomery, 79, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Red Walnut Church of Christ with Coy Johnson and Don Harrison officiating. Burial will be in the Church cemetery with Scotts Hill Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Montgomery died early today at the Decatur County Hospital in Parsons. She was a member of the Red Walnut Church. Surviving are her husband B.A. Montgomery; two daughters, Mrs. WIllie Montgomery and Mrs. Lillie Brasher both of Bath Springs; two sons, Carmon of Scotts Hill and Edward of Parsons; another son, Golie preceded her; a sister, Mrs. Lillie Reed of Scotts Hill; a brother, Babe Eason of Bath Springs; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

CLIFFORD A. MONTGOMERY - Services for Clifford A. Montgomery, 59, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pleasant Hill Methodist Church with the burial in the church cemetery. Parsons Mortuary in charge. Mr. Montgomery died at the Decatur Co. Hsp. Monday night after suffering a heart attack. He was born in the Bath Springs Community son of the lats mr. and Mrs. Arthur Montgomery. He married Miss Jenny Ray in 1937 and they farmed in the Bath Springs Community. Surviving also are a son, Arthur Ray of Bath Springs; a daughter Peggy Lee of Bath Springs, six brothers, Elvin, Jahue, Edward, Albert, Vernone and Hollis all of Bath Springs; four sisters, Mrs. Flora Riley of Parsons, Mrs. WIllie White of Bath Springs, Mrs. Colleen Patterson and Mrs. Dorothy Patterson both of Bath Springs.

GLEN MONTGOMERY - Funeral services for Mr. Montgomery, age 75, were Monday September 29, 2008 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Scotts Hill with Rev. Brian Griffith officiating.Burial followed in Corinth Methodist Cem. Scotts Hill. Mr. Glen Montgomery died late Saturday night at his home in Scotts Hill. He was born March 6, 1933 in Decatur County to the late Robert Nelson Montgomery and Zelma Holland. He was the ownder of Glen Montgomery and Son Dozer Work. Survivors include his wife, Betty of Scotts Hill; one son Robert (JoNell); one sister, Rhee Clark; two grandaughters Jennifer Montgomery and Jillian Yarbro (Marty)

MARY MONTGOMERY - Two killed in Wreck near Scotts Hill -- A group of folks from the Gray's Chapel community, Decatur County, started last Sunday to the store stricken area near Beacon in a flat bed truck driven by Charlie Phillips. Among those in the group were Miss Mary Mongomery, 15 years of age, who was holding the baby six months of age, of a Mrs. Roach. When the truck reached the front of the home of John S. Pratt, it was discovered that a rug on which all were sitting was on fire, and a lady in the crowd yelled for all to jump, which Miss Montgomery did, with the baby she was holding, and to the death of both. Miss Montgomery's next was broken and the baby's skull fractured, and death was instant. Mr. Roach, mother of the baby had a leg broken when she jumped from the car. It is assumed that the rug was hanging over the end of the truck had become ignited from the exhaust pipe. Services were held for the victims of Gray's Chapel.

NEALOUS LEE MONTGOMERY - Funeral services for Nealous Lee Montgomery were Tuesday, September 11, 2007, at Decaturville First United Methodist Church with Steve Douglas and L. H. "Cotton" Ivy officiating. Burial followed in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Bath Springs. He was a World War II Veteran serving on the European front, he was a former pipeliner and owned and operated his own business for 50 years. Presently he was an owner in N. L. Montgomery & Son Sawmill and cattle farms, Montgomery, age 81, died Monday, September 10, 2007, at Decatur County General Hospital. He was preceded in death by two brothers, W. R. and Harold Montgomery, two infant brothers, and a sister, Melba Martin. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Geneva (Keeton) Montgomery; one daughter, Pam (Kenneth) Pearcy, Decaturville; four sons, Jimmy (Brenda) Montgomery, Camden, Bobby (Diana) R. Montgomery, Gary Neal (Debbie) Montgomery, and Donny Joe (Ginger) Montgomery all of Decaturville; one sister Mary Lynn Butler, Decaturville; one half sister, Betty Ann Jordan, Sevierville; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

ERELINE MOORE - Funeral services for Erelien Moore were Sunday at Parsons Church of Christ. Burial followed in Sardis Ridge Cemetery. Mrs. Moore, age 83, died January 21, 2009 in Austin TX. She was preceded by her husband Clarence Moore. She is survived by one son, Thomas Moore, Paris TN; one daughter Sheree Shipp of Austin TX and six grandchildren.

FRANK J. MOORE - Funeral services for Mr. Frank J. Moore were held Sunday, July 22 at Parsons Mortuary. Burial followed at Bear Creek Cemetery. Mr. Moore, age 71, passed away July 20, 2007 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. He was preceded in death by his mother, Francis Moore and father, Frank C. Moore. Survivors include his wife, Wilma Hays Moore of Parsons; two sons, Michael E. Moore of Parsons and Frank Joseph J. Moore of Atlanta, GA; two daughters, Pamela Kay Pratt of Parsons and Sandra Louise Moore of Decaturville; one sister, Mary Sharos of New Athens, Ill.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

MACK MOORE - Services for Mack Moore were Thursday at Camp Ground Methodist Church with the Rev. J. D. Featherstone and the Rev. Morace Melton officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Parsons Mortuary in charge. Mr. Moore, who was 72, died early Thursday at Carroll County Hospital after suffering a heart attack. He was a retired farmer and a Methodist. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Gladys Moore; a daughter, Mrs. Willow Dean Patterson of Decaturville; four brothers, J. T. Moore of Nashville , Troy Moore, Perry Moore, both of Parsons, and Roger Moore of Lexington ; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Tillman of Scotts Hill, Mrs. Eddie Myracle of Decaturville, Mrs. George Bennett of Pinson and Mrs. Bessie Tucker of Jackson.

MARY LOU MOORE - Funeral Services for Mrs. Mary Lou Moore, age 72, of Decaturville, were held Wednesday, September 8th in the Chapel of Decatur County Funeral Home with Bro. Curtis Wilson and Bro. Raymond Roach officiating. Interment followed in the Mt. Lebabon Cemetery. Mrs. Moore passed away Sunday, September 5th, 2004 at Decatur County General Hospital. Survivors include her husband, James Moore of Decaturville; one daughter, Ruth Martin of OK; five sons, Jimmy Moore and Marty Moore of Decaturville, Joe Moore of IL, J.E. Tidwell of GA, and Sherman Tidwell of MO. Other survivors include two sisters, Daisy Greenwall of IL and Gail Davis of MO; two brothers, Earl Robitson and Benny Robitson of Oregon; fourteen grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by two sisters, Lena Thompson and Goldie Rapp and one brother, Floyd Robitson. Serving as Pallbearers were Jeff Tomblin, Kevin Tomblin, Melton Moore, Delton Moore, Earl Wayne Day, and Stevie Turpin. Honorary Pallbearers were David Durham, Jeff Shoulders, and Travis England.

CURRY B. MORGAN - Services for Dr. Curry B. Morgan, 75, Parsons veterinarian, were at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Parsons Mortuary with the Rev. Paul Shell and the Rev. J. Hugh McCorkle officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Dr. Morgan died Friday at Decatur County Hsp. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Morgan of Decatur County. He married Miss Foy Holley on Aug. 6, 1916. Dr. and Mrs. Morgan lived in the Davis Community near Decaturville where he farmed and practiced veterinary medicine. He moved to Parsons in 1948. Dr. Morgan was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Surviving are his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Iris Brasher of Decaturville an dMrs. Peggy Hunt of Nashville; four brothers, Ben, Vester, Walter and Bob all of Decaturville; and a sister Mrs. Vera Jones of Decaturville. A son Edison Morgan is deceased.

VESTER MORGAN - Services for Vester Morgan were Monday at Concord United Methodist Church near Decaturville with the Revs. James Cotham and Norman Coke officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Parsons Mortuary in charge. Mr. Morgan who was 75, died Saturday morning at his home after a short illiness. He was a veteran of WW II, a retired farmer and a Methodist. He leaves his wife Bertha Morgan; two stepsons, Charlie Blankenship and Johnny Blakenship; a stepdaughter Mrs. Ann Blankenship; three brothers, Bob, Ben and Walter, all of Decaturville; a sister, Mrs. Vera Jones of Decaturville and three grandchildren.

BOB MORRIS - Funeral services for Mr. Bob Morris, age 67, are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 18, 2007 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Scotts Hill with Bro. Roy Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery in Scotts Hill. Mr. Morris died in Nashville early Monday. He was born May 8, 1940 in Hardin County to the late James Ruben and Ida Kelly Morris. He was a disabled truck driver, farmer, and mechanic, and a member of Saltillo Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Mrs. Nancye Morris of Scotts Hill; three daughters, Tiffany Montgomery of Bath Springs, Daphne Hardison of Nashville, and Tara Meeks of Scotts Hill; one sister, Artie Massey of Swansea, IL, and seven grandchildren, Cody & Brittany Montgomery, Spencer, Zach, and Noah Hardison, and Landon and Lilli Meeks.

He was a Cumberland Presbyterian. He leaves a son, Alvin Myracle of Decaturville; a brother Harvey of Reagan, two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
