County Formations   Hamilton County was formed from a non-county portion of Rhea County in 1819.     Sequatchie was formed from Marion & Bledsoe County. Area was made part of Hamilton County Sept. 21, 1857.  Became new county, Dec. 9, 1857.   James County was formed from parts of Hamilton and Bradley Counties in 1871.   James County was abolished and the land was added back to Hamilton County in 1919.       Back Home Next
