ROBERT L. LEWIS

Robert A. Lewis was born near Sardis in 1864, was reared by a widowed mother on the farm, and received his education in the common schools of the County, before the organization of high schools. He, however, attended schools outside the County for about one and one-half years. He tauaht school for a time, served two terms as Circuit Court Clerk, was assistant cashier in the Bank of Lexington for six years, was cashier in the Central State Bank for twenty years, and is now President of it. He became president at the death of T. Edwards who was president. Mr. Lewis has stood for honesty and progress and advancement of such as promote the highest and best interest of his county and state.
