ELLIS E. SCOTT

President of Scotts Hill Lions Club this year is Ellis E. Scott, former mayor of the municipality. Mr. Scott is a native Henderson Countian, born at Sardis Aug. 18, 1897. He is the son of Jeptha Ralph & Matilda Ann (Winchester) Scott. He is a cashier and vice president of the Farmers State Bank at Scotts Hill, a position he has held for the past four years. Prior to assuming this position, he operated a general store in Scotts Hill for about ten years.

Mr. Scott has also served as a teacher in Henderson, Decatur and Hardin Counties, and was attendance officer for Henderson County from 1930 - 1932. He atended elementary and high schools as well as a business school. In 1947 Mr. Scott entered the ministry and has been engaged in pastoral and evangelistic work in Tennessee and Kentucky since. He is a Baptist. In Aug. 1918 he married Florence Duck and they have five children; Nell, Raymond, Maxine, Josephine and Elizabeth.
