Among those attending the reunion were Betty (Scott) Holloway from Beuna Vista, Carroll Co. TN with her son Joe. Her sister Peggy Fiveash from Shelby Co TN was there along with their brother Lilburn E. Scott and his wife Norma, all the way from Texas.
I found Ralph Averitt enjoying a huge plate of food, sitting next to his mother Martha. Sue Dyer who lives in the Doe Creek Comminity, and her brother Howard from Lexington TN, were both in attendance. I had a minute to talk with Jerry Taylor, also enjoying the food - and I caught a glimpse of his wife Edith in the crowd.
I met James D. Kennedy the son of James Drew & Lennie (Adams) Kennedy. Dorothy Chapman and her husband Dan were there. Dorothy is the daughter of Lester & Dora (Kennedy) Fessell. I met up with Jim Fessell and his sons Chris & Michael.
Jim Kennedy was here -- he can proudly say that he attended the Doe Creek school in the last year of its existance. Jim is the son of James & Flossie (Clenney) Kennedy. I also ran into Norma Jones.
The two little 'cuties' of the day were the youngest members. The youngest in attendance was Kash Eason, just nine weeks old today, son of Daniel & Traci Eason who is the son of Danny & Karin Eason, son of Bob & Ruth Eason, son of Noah Sims & Mary Clenny Eason.. What an ancestry this little guy has!!
An equally impressive ancestry is held by Lillian Ruth White, just a couple of weeks older. This little beauty is the daughter of Donna Eason White, daughter of Danny & Karin Eason. Also in this group is Jake Eason Dunavant son of Donna Eason Dunavant, who I think is about 4 years old or so.
Maybe I'll be able to figure out who is kin to who -- someday.. but in the meantime --
the day was a huge success and may there be many more of them.
