Houston Chalk of Decaturville attended the burial of his niece here Saturday

A.E. McNatt of Lexington, accompanied by his brother Ed, of Jackson, attended the burial of Calvin McNatt here, Tuesday

Lon McBride gave our office a brief but pleasant call Tuesday and had the news sent to Jim Bivens, Hickman KY - thanks

G.M. Steel attended singing at Mud Creek Valley last Sunday and reports a large crowd, plenty of dinner and av ery nice time.

Frank and Tom Bivens who have been visiting relatives here for several weeks returned to their home at HIckman KY last Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Roy, who have been visiting the latters parents at Saltillo, passed thorugh our burg Monday en route for their home at Covington

Mr. Riley Perkins of Luray, a former citizen of our town, has bought out G.W. Bryant and will move back right away.

Elder J.W. Droke of Lexington, preached an excellent sermon at the M.E. Church South Sunday night.

Giley Austin adn family left last week for Hickman KY where they will make their future home. We regret losing this excellent family.

Mrs. Raymond Petty of Memphis was the guest of Mrs. Douglas Moore last Friday.

Mrs. Herman H. lane and son, Harold and Earl Dyer made a trip to Lexington Saturday and had some dental work done.

Lum D. Jones and family recently moved on the John W. Carter farm. Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Holmes moved to the place vacated by Mr. Jones, known as the L.W. Johnson place.

Aubert J. Little, Arlie Bivens, Aaron Craig and Vernone Campbell were home last weekend from Milan where they are employed.

The home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Little burned last week with all its contents. It was known as the Savage place north of town.

Leon Rice has been on the sick list.

Mrs. Howard Montgomery of Memphis sold her saw mill and lot last week to Otis E. Miller

Joe Stanfill has been suffering with sinus trouble.

Mr. and Mrs. Holland Rice an children of Memphis spent Saturday night and Sunday in the home of Mr.a nd Mrs. Jim England here and Mr. and Mrs. C.W. Rice of Savannah.

Mrs. Belver Pitts, Mrs. Gladys Smith and Mrs. A.M. Travillion were among the town shoppers here Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hassell and children, Phil and Brenda of McKenzie spent Saturday night in the home of Mr. and Mrs. T.H. Phillips.

Mrs. Drew McCauley who has had pneumonia is better.

Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Petty of Savannah spent Saturday night in the home of Mr.a nd Mrs. Robert Hodgins.

Dr. and Mrs. G.A. Brandon and daughter, Jane, Mr.a nd Mrs. James Dunavan of Lexington and Mr. and Mrs. Jake Conaway and son Eugene of Memphis were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Moore and family Sunday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Conways son Eugene will leave this week for the Army camp.

Mrs. Raymond Harris Jr. and children, Mary Blevins and Raymond III of Winfield, AL, Mrs. Charles Tripp of Malesus spent the past two weeks here visiting Nellie and Uncle Bill Blevin.

Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Meadors of Memphis spent the weekend here with relatives.

Miss Barbara Landry left last Wednesday for Nashville to enter school for training as a nurse. She also spent Saturday night here with her parents, returning Sunday afternoon.

Sam Howell of Scot Field IL spent the weekend with his wife and son and mother, Mrs. Lena Howell.

Elmer Grissom, wife and daughter, Jenny, of Caldwell KS have been visiting relatives here. They returned to their home last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Willie Walker and Ernest Walker, wife and children of Dyersburg spent last week here in the home ofMr. and Mrs. H.C. Millneer.

J. T. Moore, wife and daughter Dianne, spent last weekend in Friendship.

Mr. and Mrs. Neal Rice and son of Troy spent the weekend here and attended the Rice and Grissom reunion.

Mr. and Mrs. W.F. Holland and sons, Steve and Dick, and Kayle Holland spent last weekend in Covington, visiting Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Dumas and their mother, Mrs. W. M. Holland, who is visiting there and observed her 78th birthday on the 2nd of Sept.

Mrs. James Taylor, Mrs. Tom Holland, Mrs. Mary Rice, Mrs. Dora Goff, Mrs. D.L. Story and Mrs. Flake Benson attended the W.S.C.S. District Meeting at Milan last Thursday.
