DAVID CROCKETT ALTOM , in his 63rd year died at his home on the west side of Lexington, Sunday last at 7 p.m. Nine days before his death Esq. Altom had a light chill, but seemingly getting over it, took a trip to his old home in the 15th district. He was taken down while on this visit and on Tuesday previous to his death, was brought home with a dangerous case of pheumonia. In spite of every effort, he continued growing worse and on Sunday the feeble flame of life expired just a little before the sun went down. Esq. Altom was a good citizen, a member of the primitive baptist church and in every sense an honest man. In all his three score years, he was guilty of no action that would bring the blush of shame to his people. The progress esteemed him as he deserved and feels the deepest sympathy for bereaved widow and 8 children. His remains were carried Sunday to the 15th district.
