Mrs. Blankenship, who was 69, died Thursday, January 3, at her home. Mrs. Blankenship is survived by her husband Elmer Blankenship of Lexington; two daughters Deborah Tosh of Jackson and Karen Flanagan of Lexington; four sons Michael Blankenship of Humboldt; Thomas Blankenship, Tim Blankenship and Mark Blankenship, all of Lexington; four sisters Jessie Britt, Pat Prien, both of Lexington; Sarah Willis of Warner Robbins, GA and Cornelia Tignor of Jackson; and one brother Buddy Hale of Lexington.

Mr. Blankenship 89, died Wednesday, June 2, 1999 in Naples FL. e was a native of Henderson County but had lived in Louisville Ky for many years. He was a retired farmer. He leaves four sons, Charles A. Blankenship of Naples, FL, Jerry P. Blankenship, Harley N. Blankenship, both of Louisville KY and Fred E. John Archer officiating. Burial will be in Henderson County Memory Gardens with Pafford Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Blankenship, wife of the Rev. R.F. Blankenship, died Friday night at Lexington Methodist Hospital after a short illness. She was a native of Henderson County, attended First Methodist and was retired from the old Salant and Salant pants factory. She leaves another son, Billy Dyer of Nashville; a sister, Mrs. Beulah Parker of Jackson; four brother, Edward Mitchell of Sardis, Mark Mitchell of Savannah, Johnny Mitchell of Jackson and Ray Mitchell of New Jersey; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

AUGUSTA BLANKENSHIP - Services for Mrs. Augusta Blankenshp were Friday at Reeds Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Grubbs officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cem. Mrs. Blankenship, 85, died Wednesday morning at Lexington methodist Hsp. after a long illness. She was a native of Henderson County the widow of Laudie Blankenship and a Baptist. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Juanita Wadley and Mrs. Edna Wooley, both of Memphis, a stepdaughter, Mrs. Margaret Tyler of Lexington adn seven grandchildren.

Mr. Blankenship, who was 19, died Wednesday night at Jackson General Hospital from injuries suffered Saturday night in a single-car wreck on Old Jackson Road. CINDI MICHELLE BLANKENSHIP - (Gleason) - A two car head-on crash near here early Sunday morning killed a 20 year old University of Tennessee at Martin student and hospitalized a Trezevant man, the Tennessee Highway Patrol said. The wreck occurred about 3 a.m. one mile south of Gleason on Tennessee 22, said Trooper Larry Rouse. The driver of one vehicle, Cindi Michelle Blankenshp of Dresden was pronounced dead at Methodist Hospital of McKenzie. The other driver, Allen S. Butler 29, was listed in good condition today at the hospital. Both drivers were alone. The accident was under investigation today and further details were unavailable. Services for Miss Blankenship will be 2:30 Tuesday at Reeds Chapel in Lexington with Rev. Ricky Black, the Rev. Bobby Beecham and the Rev. R.W. Moore officiating. Burial will be in Henderson County Memorial Gardens. A Henderson County native, she was a Baptist. Surviving are her mother, Caroline Holmes Blankenship of Lexington; her father and stepmother Jackie D. and Ruth Ann Blankenship of Dresden; a brother, Sgt. Mitchell Blankenship, stationed with the Army at WIesbaden Wet Germany and a sister, Tammy of Lexington.

ELMER BLANKENSHIP , twin baby boy of Ora and Mr. Ida Blankenship, aged four months and two days, died Tuesday morning at 2:00 o’clock in the home in South Lexington from stomach trouble, and the surviving baby is ill with the same disease. The little body was carried to Palestine and interred Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Fleetwood Ball officiating. Mr. And Mrs. Blankenship have the sympathy of a host of relatives and friends in the loss of their babe, and with this sympathy and sorrow goes the hope that their other child lives.

ERNEST LEE BLANKENSHIP - Services for Ernest Lee Blankenshp will be Friday November 16, 2001 at the First Baptist Church at Lexington with Dr. Hoyt WIlson and Rev. Everett Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the New Hope Cemetery in the Shady Hill community. Mr. Blankenship, 71, a longtime Lexington barber, died suddenly Wednesday, November 14, 2001 while working on his farm. He was a devoted member ofthe First Baptist Church of Lexington and the Jack Hay SUnday School Class. Prior to becoming a barber he was a former officer with the Lexington police and Henderson County Sheriffs department and a past employee of the State Forestry Division. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Tennessee Army National Guard. His hobbies include horses and coon hunting. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Nancy Reed Blankenship; two sons; Ernest Reed and Edwin Lee of lexington; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Wooley and Mrs. Margaret Leffel both of Lexington; two brothers, J.D. of Memphis and Glen of OK; two grandchildren Dylan Reed Blankenship and Ashley Danielle Brunsvoid both of Jackson. A brother Clayton Blankenship preceded him in death. Pallbearers to serve will be Tracy Tyler, Jimmy Harris, Tim Blankenship, John Blankenship, Bruce Westbrooks, Mike Burbee, Scott Horner and Chris Bunch.

JUNE BLANKENSHIP - Funeral services for June Blankenship, age 73, of Wildersville were Tuesday, September 11, 2007, at Christian Chapel Church of Christ with Bro. Kenny Bradford officiating. Interment followed in the Christian Chapel Cemetery. Parsons Mortuary was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Blankenship died on Saturday, September 8, 2007 at the West Tennessee Transitional Care Center in Jackson, Tennessee following a long illness. She is survived by her husband Robert Blankenship; six sons, Bobby Blankenship; Robert Kent (Hoss) Blankenship, and Roger (Susan) Blankenship all of Wildersville, Connie Mack (Suzie) Blankenship of Santa Rosa, California, Tony (Pam) Blankenship of Lexington, Tommy (Angela) Blankenship of Huron; one brother, Larry Reeves and one sister Ginger Wallace both of Lexington; nine grandchildren, Nicholas Blankenship, Hayley Blankenship, Melissa Blankenship, Amber Blankenship, Jessica (Ross) LoBosco, Jana Beth Blankenship, Colt Blankenship, Aaron Blankenship, and Justin Blankenship and three great-grandchildren, Elijah Blankenship, Emma LoBosco and Weston Blankenship.

WYATT BLANKENSHIP - Funeral services for Mr. Wyatt Blankenship, age 18, were held on Wednesday, September 17 at the Union Grove Baptist Church. Burial followed at Union Grove Cemetery. Mr. Blankenship passed away Sunday, September 14 at Perry County Hospital. He was a student. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Louise Blankenship. Survivors include his father, Tim Blankenship of Lexington, Godmother, Sandy Prien of Lexington, and his grandfather, Elmer Blankenship. Reed’s Chapel was in charge of the services.

Teen dies in car crash:
Services are today for a local teen who died in a Sunday afternoon one-vehicle accident in Perry County. Wyatt Blankenship, 18, died in a single vehicle accident on Highway 100 at 7:15 a.m. According to THP reports obtained by the Buffalo River Review, William Enochs,17, of Lexington, was driving a 1994 Toyota Camry that left the right side of the highway and struck a tree. Blankenship was a passenger. According to Trooper James Watkins, both young men were wearing seat belts.
