HENRY DUNNIVANT
- County officers said Wednesday morning they were "jsut about convinced" that the death of Henry Dunnivant, whose body was discovered Monday, was due to a hit-run accident and not to foul play as previously suspected. Sheriff Ernest Wilkins said that Mr. Dunivant's billford, overlooked when the body was first searched, was found in an inside pocket by undertakers. Absence of the billfold at first had aroused suspicion of murder. The battered, lacerated body of Mr. Dunnivant was found near Scotts Hill Monday morning by J.L. Majors of Scotts Hill. The body was lying face down about 8 feet off the Scotts Hill road leading to Hwy 100 intersection. Sheriff Wilkins said the right leg was broken and the face lacerated and bruised. Mr. Sunnivant, 47, was a farmer and lived near Reagan. He was seen in Scotts Hill Sunday night about 7 p.m. by Grady Alford, filling station operator. Services for Mr. Dunnivant were conducted Tuesday afternoon at Judson church by the Rev. W.A. Moody. He is survived by four brothers, Jim of Jackson, W.W. of Lexington, John of Bemis and Arlis of Memphis; three sisters, Mrs. Ester Pinkley of Memphis, Mrs. Bittie Young of Memphis and Mrs. Essie Haggard of Jackson.
