JENNIE (DEERE) WADE
- Services for Mrs. Jennie Deere Wade were conducted from the First Baptist Church Wednesday afternoon by Rev. Edwin Duesner and the Rev. Jones Stewart of Somerville. Mrs. Wade, 62, died at her home in Somerville Monday night of cancer after a long illness. She had been bedfast for the past year. A native Henderson Countian, Mrs. Wade was the daughter of the late S.E. and Ellen Deere. She had lived all her life in this county until four years ago when she moved to Somerville. She was a member of the Baptist Church here. She is survived by her husband E.M. Wade; a son, Paul Wade of Memphis; two daughters, Mrs. Lois Belew and Mrs. Grace Pearson, Lexington; two sisters, Mrs. Hal Johnson of Lexington and M rs. Pete Mitchell of Nashville; a brother, Oliver Deere of Lexington. Six grandchildren also survive. Burial in Lexington Cemetery.
MARION T. WEATHERLY
, 73, father of D.L. Weatherly ofLexington, died Wednesday afternoon at Memphis at the hme of a daughter Mrs. Guy Smith. Nr. Weatherly was a retired farmer of Saulsbury TN, and had gone to his daughter's home Monday. He had been a patient at Methodist Hospital for a month before then. In addition to his son here, he leaves three children; Ernest, and Horace, Ripley MS: Clyde Weatherly of Saulsbury; Herman , James, L.T. and Conrad Weatherly all of Memphis; six daughters other than Mrs. Smith include Mrs. Whit Rogers and Mrs. Lawrence Jordan, Ashland, MS; Mrs. Norman Parham, Mrs. Herman Jenkins and Mrs. W. P. Newton all of Grand Junction.
FRED WILHITE
- Services for Fred Wilhite, 53, a Sardis businessman were conducted Tuesday afternoon from the Middleton Church of Christ. Mr. Wilhite, a former NC & StL railway employee, was found dead in bed Monday morning at the home of a sister, Mrs. Vera A. Brooks in Memphis. Born in Mississippi, Mr. Wilhite formerly lived in Memphis. At Sardis, he was active in community and civic affairs, and was a Mason. He was a member of the Union Avenue Church of Christ in Memphis. In additions to his sister, he is survived by his widow, Mrs. Virginia Cole Wilhite; two half brothers, Guy Wilhite ofRipley, Miss and Al Wilhite of Memphis. Burial was in Middleton Cemetery.
LOUISE M. WILKINS - Funeral services for Louise Wilkins, 82, were Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at Arrington Funeral Directors at 10;00 a.m. Graveside services were held at 12:00 in Lexington City Cemetery. Mrs. Wilkins passed away Sunday July 27, 2008 at her residence. She is survived by her husband, Homer ; two sons, Andy of Madison AL and Joe of Jackson TN; one daughter Margaret Bohn, Louisville KY; two brother, Terry Massey of Tyler TX and Johnny Massey of San Bernardino CA; three sisters, Odell Cromer of Honey Grove TX, Maxine Bennett, Lampassas TX and Carol Bizzell of Lampassas; eight grandchidren. She was preceded by her brothers, Clifford and Clyde Massey and a sister, Mada Ruth Moody. MARNIA MAE (IVY) WILKINS
- Services for Mrs. Marnia Ivy Wilkins were Thursday, Feb. 12 at Pafford Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Beecham officiating. Burial was in Independence Cemetery. Mrs. Wilkins, 68, died Feb. 10, 1987 at Jackson General Hsp. after a long illness. She leaves her husband, Elco F. Wilkins, Jackson, a son Phillip , Huron; one daughter, Carolyn Ayers, Jackson; three sisters, Mrs. Eula Hampton, Jackson, Mrs. Raymelle Beasley and Mrs. Ruth Helton, both of Hernando MS and a grandchild.
REBECCA AZILEE (DUKE) WILKINS
- Services for Rebecca Azilee Wilkins were Friday at Reeds with the Rev. Loren Locke officiating. Burial was in Mt. Ararat Cemetery. Mrs. Wilkins, 90, died Wednesday night at Decatur County Hospital after a long illness. She was a native of Henderson County, the widow of Claude Wilkins and a Baptist. She leaves three daughters, Mrs. Alene Derryberry of Yuma, Mrs. Nadine Hearington of St. Louis and Mrs. Helen Gooch of Memphis; two sisters, Mrs. Donnie Lewis of Lexington and Mrs. Odell Brewer of Wildersville; two brothers, Luther Duke and Audie Duke, both of Lexington; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
DORA J. WILKINSON
- Services for Mrs. Dora J. Wilkinson were Monday, May 13, 2002 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Pafford Funeral Home.
Burial was in Hare Cemetery. Mrs. Wilkinson, age 67, passed away Sunday May 12, 2002 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of the Natchez Trace Missionary Baptist Church. She leaves her husband Harold; two sons, Gary and Steve, four grandsons and a sister Dorothy Wood all of Lexington.
BETTY (THREADGILL) WISE
- Services for Mrs. Betty Threadgill Wise were Friday at Reeds with the Rev. Ben Rainey officiating. Burial was in Independence Cemetery. Mrs. Wise, who was 93, died Wednesday afternoon at NuCare Convalescent Ctr. after a long illness. She was a native of Henderson County and was a Methodist. She leaves a sister, Mrs. Edna Amis of Lexington.
CYNTHIA IDA (HAMILTON) WOODARD
- Services for Mrs. Cynthia Hamilton Woodard were yesterday afternoon at Independence Church of Christ with burial in the church cemetery. Mrs. Woodard, who was 86, died Monday morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Lucille Metzger of near Milan after a long illness. She was born in Decatur County and lived in Earle, Ark., before moving to Milan to live with her daughter 11 years ago. She leaves her husband, James T. Woodard; another daughter, Mrs. Zethra Hoyner of Moscow; two sons, Bill Woodard and Jim Woodard, both of Milan; a brother, Herman Hamilton of Lexington; 14 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
