John Satterfield was born 18 September 1856. He was the son of Robert Carroll McPeake ( 4 April 1830-22 Feb 1911) & Permelia (Reed) McPeake (3 August 1834 - 15 Dec 1910). John was married to Elizabeth Mackie the daughter of Henry Mackie. Elizabeth was born 14 November 1860. John and Elizabeth are both buried at Rock Hill Cemetery in Henderson County, as are his parent. John & Elizabeth became the parents of seven children:


Addie B. born in February 1884, married Edward Miller
B. Louis born January 1887, married Estelle Gilliam
Henry A. born 5 Feb 1892 and died 5 August 1966, married Jimmy Adcox (1896-1984)
Annie & Willie the twins
Chester A. born September 1896
Georgia born 1902, died in 1987 and is buried at Flatwoods Cemetery.
Mary McPeake born about 1904 married John Horton
