records, obituaries, cemetery headstone readings, biographies, county histories, census data, pensions and other
military data. In short, we'd like to display all the items you used to put together your family tree (rather than
the tree itself).

Knox County was founded in 1792. It was named in honor of Maj. Gen. Henry Knox who served as Washington's chief
of artillery in the Revolutionary War and the Secretary of War in Washington's Cabinet. Was one of the founders
and first secretary of the Society of the Cincinnati.
