The entrance to the long forgotten Denmark Methodist Cemetery, Denmark, Madison Cty., TN. Final resting place for 13 Meriwether's and Adolphus A. Britton, owner of the land that the Civil War battle of Britton's Lane was fought on September 1, 1862. We have cleared the brush and fallen trees and are restoring it. Adolphus was a Mason and belonged to Masonic Lodge # 154 in Denmark, TN. His grave and others were rediscovered in a long abandoned cemetery. The Civil War Battle of Britton's Lane was fought on His and wife Anne's land on September 1, 1862.
