LYLE S. BARNETT
died 18 Mar 1996, buried: Highland Memorial Gardens, Jackson Madison Co TN son of Luther Barnett and Jessie Williford wife: Ruby Lucille Goodrich 1912 - 19 MAR 1998 age 86 children: Jimmy and Reggie Barnett Lyle was preceeded in death by 3 – ½ sisters, Eloise Hollyfield (note: she was listed as Stevenson in Billie’s obit), Clarice West, Neva West and 3 – ½ brothers, Vernon, Roy, Billie Lyle was survived by two sons, Jimmy and Reggie and one sister, Mary Sue Cash
BETTYE MAI BENSON
, 74, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, September 6, 2004.
She was a native of Jackson, TN and 1947 graduate of Jackson High School. Bettye was a former member of First Christian Church of Jackson and currently a member of Hickory Valley Christian Church. She was a member of the Paragon Community Club.
Bettye was preceded in death by a daughter, Jo Ann Benson Cress.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Joe Neal Benson, Sr.; son, Joe Neal Benson, Jr. and wife Teresa; daughter, Bettye Carol Hunt and husband, Leslie; three grandchildren, Stacey Stockwell, Daniel and Sam Benson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Thursday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be conducted at 4 p.m. CST on Thursday at Highland Memorial Gardens, Jackson, TN
GEORGE WALTER BRASHER JR.
- Born 9 Jul 1912, d. 15 Jan 1978, spent his adult life in Jackson, Tennessee, where he owned and operated "Brasher's Clothing Store" at 111 North Market St. He married Verlie May Shackelford, b. 27 Jul 1914, and they had three children: 1. George Walter Brasher, III m. Martha Jane Smith and had three children: 1. Suzanne Smith Brasher 2. George Walter Brasher, IV 3. John Bradley Brasher 2. Carolyn Shackelford Brasher m. Earl C. Walker, Jr.3. Janyth Ann Brasher
J.T. BUCK
who died suddenly on February 3, 1959 following a heart attack was a prominent minister and leader in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He had served as pastor, board executive, board member, and home missionary. The attack came while he was sitting on the stage of the Greeneville High School (Greene Co. TN) ready to give a talk to six hundred students. He was pastor of the Cedar Hill church where he had served for two years. He was planning to retire soon and move to his home at Jackson, Tenn (Madison Co). He was born in the nearby Maple Springs community 66 years ago.
Funeral services were held at the Cedar Hill church by Dr. Turner N. Clinard of Greeneville, assisted by Rev. B. F. Guinn, and at the First Cumberland Presbyterian church in Jackson, Tenn., with Rev. O. T. Arnett in charge, assisted by Rev. H. Glenn Finley. A large congregation of friends, including thirty five ministers and church leaders attended the Jackson service.
His survivors include his wife, the former Martha Verner Giles, two sons, and three daughters; Rev. Clinton Buck and Mrs. E.C. Baird of McKenzie, Tenn., Mrs. Olivia Fesmire, Mrs.Velora Watson, and J. T. Buck, Jr., of Jackson. Three brothers, L.H., Charles, and G. C. Buck, and one sister, Mrs. Fannie Caveness. There were thirteen grandchildren. He had held pastorates at Birmingham, Columbus, Miss., New London, Iowa, Ramer, Tenn., Brunswick, Tenn., and Auburn, Ky. He had served as home missionary of West Tennessee Synod and for two years was executive secretary of the denomination's Board of Missions and Evangelism. At the 1958 General Assembly in Birmingham he was honored as Rural Minister of the Year. For a number of years he was a member of the denomination's old Board of Publication.

LORA (HATLEY) BOND
- Cryptside services for Lora H. Bond age 86 will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday April 27, 2007 at the mausoleum of Highland Memorial Gardens with Rev. Maurice Hays officiating. Mrs. Bond went home to be with the lord on Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. She was born in Benton County, TN on September 18, 1920 the daughter of the late James Wiley and Bernice Jordan Hatley and was a homemaker. She was an active member of First Baptist Church until her health declined and was a member of the Eastern Star for more than fifty years. Mrs. Bond, the widow of Henry G. Bond is survived by a daughter, Patricia Boatright and husband, Michael of Jackson, four grandchildren, David Boatright and wife, Candice of Germantown, TN; Keith Boatright and wife, Aimee of Waco, TX; Melissa Ada and Robert Bond of Jackson, TN and by four great grandchildren, Daniel Boatright, Mark Boatright, Alex Boatright and Julie Ada. Other than her parents and husband Mrs. Bond was preceded in death by a brother, James William Bond.

- Funeral services for Mrs. Freddie Mae Booth, age 90, will be held at 12:00 Noon
on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Berean Baptist Church. Burial will follow at
Highland Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Booth, retired teacher, died Thursday,
March 13, 2008 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. She was
preceded in death by her husband, Richard Booth and a son Samuel
Booth. Surviving relatives include her grandson, Kevin Booth of
Nashville, TN and a sister, Wilma J. Bennett of Brownsville, TN.

BUSTER BOYKIN
,age 88, died April 16, 2009 after a short illness.
Buster was born in Mississippi to the late Newt and Ida Boykin, and later chose Jackson, TN as his home. He started working for Joseph E. Seagrams & Sons at age 18 and retired at age 62.
Buster was preceded in death by his wife Hazel Tims Boykin, stepsons James Wilson and Max Stanfill.
He is survived by a daughter Marie Boykin; grandchildren Jimmy Crews (Felina), Jimmie Crews (Terry) Tracy Boykin (Aaron), Linda Shands (Shannon), B.J. Wilson, Jacob and Mike Stanfill; great grandchildren, Alicia, Bryan and Ashley Crews, Taylor Shands, Mikey and Amber Boykin and Alexandra, Connor and Ty Wilson.
The family will receive friends at Medina Funeral Home on Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 PM, and on Monday from 1:00 to 3:00 PM.
Funeral services will be conducted by Bro. Wilbur Dodd, 3:00 PM Monday April 20, 2009 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.

A.D. BROWN
, one of the largest shoe manufactueres in the world, died yesterday morning at San Antonio TX where he had gone in search of health. A telegram telling of Mr. Brown's death was received in Jackson yesterday. Mr. Brown was president of the Hamilton-Brown Shoe Company of St. Louis, where he had been actively engaged in the manufacture of shoes for more than forty years. He was sefenty years of age. The news of Mr. Brown's death occasioned genuine sorrow among a number of Jacksonians who know hm and learned with deep regret by the friends of Mr.a nd Mrs. Alanson C. Brown, formerly of this city. Mrs. Alanson Brown was Miss Stegall of Jackson. Walter L. Stegall and Clyde Aycock of this city will leave for St. Louis tomorrow to attend the funeral.

MARY ELIZABETH (KEY) BUTLER
- Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Key Butler, age 87, will be Saturday,
April 6, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home with
P.J. Hardy and Charles Thomason officiating. Burial will follow in
Lexington Cemetery. Mrs. Butler, a retired home demonstration agent for
Henderson County died Thursday, April 4, 2002 after a brief illness. She
was the widow of Woodrow Butler and a very active member of the Broad
Street Church of Christ . In addition, she was a former school teacher
for Lexington City School, a graduate of both David Lipscomb College in
Nashville and MTSU in Murfreesboro and a member of the Book Lovers Club
in Lexington. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
