GEORGE SIDNEY YANDELL - better known to friends as "Sid ", died at his home, 116 McCowat Street, Friday afternoon at 5:45 o'clock after a long illness. he was 71 years of age. He was born in this county June 25, 1884, the son of the late George Thomas Yandel and Maud Price Yandell. He spent all of his life in this county, having been continouously engaged in farming until his retirement eight years ago which was due to declining health. He represented the fourth generation of the Yandell family that had engaged in farming in this county. Mr. Yandell was a member of the Hays Avenue Methodist Churc h, the Men's Bible Class and the Jackson Lodge of Elks, No. 192. He was known for his sturdy character and fine Christian traits. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Fannie Alexander Yandell, thr ee sons, George Sidney Jr., Harry J. and Thomas R. Yandell, all of Jackson, one brother, Clyde Yandell of Jackson, two sisters, Mrs. Charles Phelp and Miss Mary Yandell of Jackson. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 4 o'cloc k at Griffin Funeral Home chapel conducted by Rev. James Wilford. Burial was in Taylor Cemetery. Pallbearers were J. W. Kinsey, Louis Kinsey, Floyd Dyer, Ch arles Kirkpatrick, Jerry Yandell, W. C. Kelly. Found on Rootsweb World Connect by "Jo"
