Pinckney Washington A R C H E R
September 22, 1855 - January 6, 1900

Pinckney, the son of Evander McIver & Sarah A. Archer, arrived on Thursday, September 22, 1855. He was the seventh of nine children. His eight siblings consisted of four brothers and four sisters.

It has appeared as if Pinckney was born, lived, and died; along with being buried in McNairy County, Tennesse. It is our assumption that this occured in or near Bethel Springs.

The one and only marriage that we are aware of is to Nancy Ellen Aldridge. We will refer to her as Ellen, because it is our understanding that this is the name she answered to and used most of her life.
The marriage was preformed by W. W. Massey who was a Justice of the Peace and the bondsman was John Cobb.

There were ten children born to Pinckney and Ellen

  •

    Amy A R C H E R
    1882 -1963

Amy Loumiser Archer married a man named Logan Archer, on December 9, 1900 in McNairy County, Tennessee. Logan's given name may have been Henry Logan Archer. His father was H. C. Archer. At the moment we have not verified, but believe this to be Henry Clay Archer, who was a brother to Amy's father Pinckney Washington Archer. If this is true then Amy and Logan were first cousins.

Amy & Logan produced six children

  • Lanny Archer
  • Lessie Archer
  • Quinton Archer
  • Henry C. Archer     7Dec1901 - 31Oct1968
  • Cora Ellen Archer     1912 - Dec2000

Amy and Logan are buried in Refuge Cemetery, McNairy County, Tennessee.

  • Pinky C. A R C H E R
    1893 -1954

A cousin related a little story to us about Pinky C. Archer, who was known as "Buster". Supposedly he was born with two brains, thereby giving him a problem of sorts. Exactly what, we are not sure. He was considered an idiot. The first years of his life was with the family, but later on was placed in some sort of institution. He lived from 1893 until 1954. We total that as 57 years, I reckon that his problem was mostly mental.

Pinky is buried in Refuge Cemetery, McNairy County, Tennessee.
