Joe F. Stem of near Hickory Hill was honored on his 71st birthday, Sunday,
when he was complimented at a dinner at the home of his nephew and niece, Mr
and Mrs Claude Lamb, at Hickory Hill.
A special event of the birthday celebration was the seating at the table of
three sisters and two brothers, including Mr. Stem whose ages range from 68
to 81. They were Crockett Stem of Unionville and Mrs. Zannie Lamb and Joe F.
Stem of Hickory Hill, Mrs. Fannie Wheeler of Christiana and Mrs. Dora Fisher
of Nashville.
Other guest at the table were Tom Wheeler and Mrs Alice Reed, besides the
hosts. Pictures were made of the family group in the afternoon, following
the dinner hour.
Friends and relatives calling during the day included Mr and Mrs. James
Farris, Mr and Mrs Grady Purvis, Myrah and Robert Purvis of Unionville, Mr
and Mrs Brannon Smith, Mary T. Charles Auburn and Ralph Smithof Barfield, Mr
and Mrs. Albert Lovvorn, Mr and Mrs. Thomas Wheeler and Thomas Earl Wheeler
of Christiana, Mr and Mrs Halton Wheeler of Shelbyville, T. Boyce of
Longview and Mrs. Zada Hale of Nashville.
