Mr. William "Bill" Gudger Smith, 76, of Parks Avenue, Ellijay, died Thursday, July 26, 2001, at the Well Star Cobb Hospital in Austell.

Mr. Smith was born September 10, 1924, in Ducktown, Tenn., the son of Jefferson Gudger Smith and Charity Ruth Bandy Smith. He was retired from the Ellijay Telephone Company, where he was a lineman, and a veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force.

He is survived by his nieces, Jane Wilber, Kennesaw, and June Falkenhaden, Mableton; and nephew, James Parks, Ellijay.

Services will be Saturday, August 4, at 2 p.m. from the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Holt officiating. Music will be by Irene Wofford.

Interment will be in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Tennessee under the direction of Logan Funeral Home
