Abbott
Jean Abbott, 76, of
Odessa passed away Wednesday October 4,
2006 at her home in Odessa.
Graveside Services will be 2:00 PM
Monday at Andrews North Cemetery in
Andrews. Marcos Zuniga of Odessa will
officiate. Arrangements are with McNett
Funeral Home in Andrews.
Jean was born April 15, 1930 in San
Angelo, Texas. She married Lewis Abbott
September 14, 1948 in San Angelo. They
moved to Odessa in 1951.
Jean was a Teacher and Coach for many
years in the Ector County Independent
School District, She taught at Bonham
Jr. High School and Goliad Elementary
School.
She was an avid golfer and was a member
and past president of the Permian Basin
Ladies Golf Association. She also won
the City Championship several times. She
also, loved her family and
Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her Husband
- Lewis Abbott, in 2005 and a brother
David Jones in 1995.
She is survived by: One Son - Bruce
Abbott of Odessa and his Daughter Taylor
of Los Angeles, California; Friend -
Kathy Casey of Odessa; One Daughter -
Carole Watts and husband Dusty and their
son Seth all of Lubbock; Two Sisters -
Rhonda Varley of Dallas and Zachie
Nichols of Aurora, Colorado.

Abbott
Marie Abbott, 66, of
Odessa, a past employee for Texas
Instruments, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004,
at Regency Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at
Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with
the Rev. Jess Little officiating. Burial
will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Arrangements are by Hubbard-Kelly
Funeral Home.
She was born in Rule. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Doug Abbott of
Gardendale and Allan Abbott of Coleman;
brothers, James Richardson of Long
Beach, Calif., and Pat Ray Richardson of
Las Vegas; sisters, Lucille Ketchum of
Pampa and Linda Roper and Helen Kizer,
both of Amarillo; and two grandchildren.
Abbott
Marvin Cecil Abbott was
born April 15, 1927, in Britton, Okla.,
to Fred and Essey Abbott. Mr. Abbott,
77, passed away Nov. 9, 2004, at Hospice
House in Odessa. He was buried at Sunset
Memorial Gardens.
Cecil, also known as ?Abb,? lived in
Odessa over 50 years. He served in the
U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. In 1985, he
retired from Phillips Pipeline after 33
years of service. He was a member of the
Fraternal Order of the Eagles. Cecil was
a kind man who put others above his own
wants. He enjoyed old TV westerns and
fishing. We treasure his memory and
honor his life.
His daughters, Pat Abbott and her
husband, Craig Ellis and Kay Abbott
Scott and her husband, Bob Scott; two
grandsons, Jonathan and Matthew Scott;
his brother, Fred Abbott Jr. and his
wife, Joy Abbott; his nieces, nephews
and friends know we will all be together
again one day.

Stephen Abbott, 38, died
Friday, June 4, 2004, at his residence
in Midland.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m.
Tuesday at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Robert Jaye ‘Robby’
Allen
July 2, 1940 – Jan. 30, 2006
Odessa At 3:45 a.m. January 30, 2006,
Robert “ROBBY” Jaye Allen went to be
with his Savior, Jesus Christ, after a
valiant 2 ? year battle with malignant,
metastatic melanoma. Robby was born July
2, 1940, in Roscoe, TX, to A. J. and
Kathryne Allen, both of whom preceded
him in death. He was raised in Big
Spring, TX, where he graduated from Big
Spring High School in May, 1958. He
served in the US Army from 1963 to 1971,
stationed in Berlin, Germany, as a
Russian linguist. Upon returning to the
USA, he was assigned to Fort Meade,
Maryland. He earned a BA in History from
the University of Maryland in May, 1973.
Upon his discharge from the military,
Robby returned to Big Spring to resume
his career with the then Texas &
Pacific Railroad.
Robby was an active member of the First
Christian Church – Disciples of
Christ, in Big Spring, where he served
as church treasurer and a deacon. He was
an avid bicyclist and volleyball player
and fan, as well as an ever-faithful
Dallas Cowboys football fan. In January
2002, he retired from the Union Pacific
Railroad in Odessa where he resided
until December 2002, at which time he
moved to Midland where he resided until
his death.
Left to cherish his memory are his
daughter, Bronwyn Allen and her life
partner, Monette Wise, of Seattle, WA;
his son, Jance Allen, of San Francisco,
CA; his sister and brother-in-law,
Sheila “SAM” and Joe Matlock, of
Midland; nephew and wife, Benny and
Candy Matlock, niece and husband,
Katrina and Rory McKinney, all of
Midland; and nephew, Kevin Matlock, of
Andrews, TX; also four great nephews,
three great nieces and one great-great
niece. Robby is also survived by his
aunt and uncle, “Friskie” and
Charlie Aiken of Colorado Springs, CO;
aunt and uncle, Nina and George Overby
of Trinity, TX; and aunt, Jessie Marth
of Roscoe, TX; as well as numerous
cousins.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Sheldon
Viney and staff of Midland Surgical
Associates; Dr. Bruce Mickey and staff
of Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas,
TX; Dr. David Watkins, Rachel and
Shauna, Emma Sarckees, all the staff and
Auxiliary at Allison Cancer Center; Dr.
Don McLarey and staff of Home Hospice
and Hospice House, Odessa, TX; and
Robby’s special “sitters” Pastor
Tony Perez and Rocio Mendoza – for all
their care, concern and love.
In accordance with Robby’s wishes,
there will be no services. To support
his desire to further higher education,
his body has been donated to Texas Tech
University Health Sciences Center.
Alvarado
Angel G. Alvarado, 74,
of Odessa, died Saturday, July 9, 2005,
at his residence.
Prayer services were held at 7:00 p.m.
Sunday. Funeral services are scheduled
for 10 a.m. today at Saint Joseph
Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph
Uecker officiating. Burial will follow
at RoseHill Cemetery. Arrangements are
by Odessa Funeral Home.
Alvarado was born in Fort Stockton.
Survivors Sons, Angel M Alvarado Jr. of
Grand Prairie, Arturo M. Alvarado of
Mansfield, and Armando M Alvarado of
Odessa; daughters, Araceli A. Stoglin
and Alma Sauceda, both of Odessa, and
Annabell A Martinez of San Antonio;
brothers, Jesus Alvarado of Artesia,
N.M., and Fred Alvarado, Delores
Cervantes, Luz Cervantes, Ernesto
Cervantes, and Jose Cervantes, all of
Odessa; sisters; Belen Jimenez and Maria
Rodriguez, both of Odessa; 18
grandchildren, and eight
great-grandchildren.
Anaya
Mercedes M. Anaya, 66,
of Odessa, died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2006,
at Hospice House.
Services are pending with Hubbard-Kelly
Funeral Home.
